Groovy Tunes, Tuesday
The stereo was playing spooky haunted house noises instead of music today, which was just fine with Raven. She was lounging in her brackish water tank behind the sales counter, her feet kicked up on a towel to keep from tracking mud on Jono's store, reading a webpage full of "absolutely true" scary stories.
The fact that a large chunk of said stories were about human stalkers rather than ghosts just made it all the more creepy. Raven actually hissed through her teeth when she got to the part about finding a man-sized hole cut in the drywall behind a wardrobe.
This was why it paid to be a sea monster. You got way less creepy dudes thinking they could overpower you, and the ones that actually did try, you could just eat!

Or clever conversation.

Yeah, but they came with tasty meat-based products, so who was Raven to complain.
"Hey Kathy! You're a life-saver. I completely forgot to bring anything to eat today."
And this way she wouldn't end up resorting to eating a random passerby.

Best friends always shared their food, right?
Kathy gave Raven a happy smile full of broken, blackened teeth. "Haaaaaaalloweeeeeeeen," she said happily. It was the best night of the monster year!
