As the air got colder and the nights got longer, Raven was finding herself getting moodier and moodier. Not from any sort of seasonal affective thing, just because it was getting close to the anniversary of when she met Misfit, and all the reminders of winter in the mountains had her feeling -- well. A lot.
The stereo was either being exceptionally tone deaf, or else was trying to cheer her up, as it kept playing upbeat, happy pop music with motivational messages.
"I have literally never felt like a plastic bag," Raven told it. "And I could literally become a plastic bag if I wanted to."
She managed to tune it out most of the morning, making half-hearted attempts to google the Misfit of other worlds using the little she knew about their life pre-ex-apocalypse, and occasionally just going on sad benders of looking at winter woods photos.
Then the stereo changed tactics.
"This," she said to it. "This is exactly why I'd rather spend all my time in the woods."
