Around The Island, Thursday Morning
The island shook.
It was a light, almost delicate tremble: no bookcases would tip over, no houses would collapse, but a cup might shake just hard enough to go tumbling off the table and strike the floor, shattering. Here and there, a pet howled, spooked, but unsure why.
A small portal opened up right above the beach, where it was empty, no man in sight. The slugs - massive things the size of a dog, with ugly circles of teeth where their faces should be - hit the sand with a disgustingly squishy noise.
Pat.
Pat pat pat.
Pat.
Pat.
The portal closed.
Another tremble.
Then it shimmered back to life, malevolent in its appearance, its purples and reds, and let the people through.

Hell, not just grin, but giggle, bubbling up from somewhere deep within, some part of him that maybe he'd forgotten, that could still feel things like relief and joy.
They'd made it.
This was going to work.
They could save the world from the plague, once and for all.

She frowned. She remembered the world when it was like this, clean and new, everything so... so... young, before the corruption had spread. She shivered, not from the cold, but from the memory of all of this blinking away, slowly, by human standards. So, so quickly, to a Gem. She hated it. Hated this. Hated being here, with that reminder.
Her shape twisted for a moment, the crack in her Gem making it difficult to hold her form for long without interruption, before settling back to her... mostly usual self. She could help end this, help save herself before losing all this would be too much to take. Maybe she'd be shattered for it, but an eternity of broken oblivion was preferable to that.

despite the icons shh, no touch of the plague to darken it and increase its shadows......yet. He laughed again, bouncing a little on his feet with excitement, fists clenched before him with a nearly boyish glee, but there was nothing so innocent about the grin on his face. Hyrule had been destroyed so beautifully! So had so much of the rest of the world! How lucky they were to still have one more pocket of the universe to bring to ruin for its own good!

So they could really break everything.

"It'll all burn," she replied, almost dreamily, if not for the intense hate in her eyes. "Every last speck of it."

He prefered... evolved beyond the morality of this world. Yeah, that sounded better.
He wrinkled his nose at the smell once he was on the beach.

"This is cheery."

"Doesn't sound very fun to me," Derek replied with an annoyed huff.

It turned her stomach. How very selfish of this place to be so nice. It was disgusting, it was rude, and it was uncivilized.

"Good. We're early enough."

"Nice place," she said, her voice echoing faintly. "Can't way to see it burn."

He looked tired.
And pale. And sick.
He was so tired of this poodoo.
