The stereo cooperated today. There was no Silence around. She could play instruments.
Dante had played her something Japanese that apparently resembled medieval music, so Breq spent the day researching songs from that era. There were, she discovered, quite a few different styles, most of them different from the Japanese one, especially in the choice of instruments. A lot of the choral music was beautiful, and, as she always did when she heard such music, missed having more voices than one. There were songs written for just one singer though, some of which she really liked, but here she was limited by the voice she had left. It just sounded horrible when she tried to sing them.
She played the tunes on the keyboard instead, but it wasn't quite the same.
