Groovy Tunes, Tuesday
The stereo was sticking to a single band today, apparently. Raven wasn't familiar with it, but what else was new? She did kind of dig it. The singer was alternately angry and heartbroken, and Raven enjoyed the sort of dirty guitar sound that the internet told her was particularly popular in the 1990s.
Misfit had been into stuff from the 80s and 90s. It had now been over a year since she last saw Misfit, and she didn't think the ache of that had faded much. She wondered if Misfit was out there somewhere, singing one of these songs as they went about their day.
They were probably dead.
Son of a bitch.
"I don't suppose you could switch to something cheerful?" she asked the stereo.
It didn't.
[rip Dolores O'Riordan. Open!]

"But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting..."
Kathy gave Raven a wry smile. "I'm learning this song on my guitar," she said, holding up bags for the day's lunch. To-go containers of pho.

If it was Kathy's, she might throw a tiny party. Coming up with dark humor about your trauma was healing, right?

"Mine," Kathy admitted, with a sheepish smile. "That and Living Dead Girl. Somedays you just gotta scream about being one of the walking dead, you know?"

She set the pho down on the counter. "If you want some time, I'll bring it by and play some stuff for you."
