Mitsutada was working extra hard today. He'd missed a shift last week due to being called back to the Citadel, as Sada-chan had finally arrived. But alas, his time back with his fellow danshi was short, as he was sent back on his special 'mission'.

So he was trying not to be grumpy about things by keeping distracted with fancy cooking.

He came in and smiled at Mitsutada. "Konnichiwa. I had a feeling it might be you once more behind the counter."

"Konnichiwa," Mitsutada greeted in return with a little nod. "It is good to see you again. I was starting to worry my cooking had scared you off!"

Hannibal laughed. "Not at all. As it happens, I rarely eat anywhere but at home, but your menu has piqued my interest."

"Eating out is probably not so necessary when you are an accomplished chef," Mitsutada said. "I am so used to cooking for myself that I too do not frequent restaurants."

He beamed a bit at the interest. "So what will I have the pleasure of serving you today?"

"The unagi, please," Hannibal said, sitting with a little bow. "It's been some time since I had that."

"An excellent choice," Mitsutada said, going to the back to prepare the dish. Luckily rice and grilled eel wasn't too long of a cook, and he'd already prepared the sauce. Mitsutada returned with Hannibal's bowl of unagi on a bed of rice and placed it in front of him. "Eel is such a filling dish, it is nice on a cooler day."

"I am a fan of motsunabe on cold days myself," Hannibal said. "Simple at its base, but quite a lot can be done with it."

"You're a man with a sophisticated palate," Mitsutada said, pleasantly surprised. "Not many I know would talk of that so casually."

Hannibal waved that off with a grin. "I enjoy any number of things that not many have experienced." To put it mildly. "And I do not share the American dislike of organ meats. The beginnings of my palate were forged throughout Europe, by my Uncle Robertus and Aunt Murasaki. And I have been adventurous since."

"Your aunt was Japanese?" Mitsutada asked, gentle surprise crossing his face. Though he was jumping to conclusions, there. "Hopefully my recipes stand up to her's."

Hannibal couldn't help it if his parent canon made poor use of Japanese names.

"She was," he answered. "And so far, you have done well," he said. "Though I begin to feel the need to return the favor."

"Are you inviting me to dinner?" Mitsutada asked with a smile. "I am flattered you think of this as a favor, I am just a humble cook doing his job."

Hannibal grinned. "But without you, this diner would not be serving such things. And there are few around that appreciate the art of a proper kaiseki."
