The Park, Friday Afternoon

So, Kanan's sword student was in China. And the student who had taken to showing up on Fridays to watch him awkwardly be a Jedi around the park was also in China. And the student who had never been his student but who had given him a nickname based entirely around the fact that he'd driven a bus that one time was in China.

Basically anyone he knew who had any manner of connection to the school was in China.

But that was no excuse for Kanan to not come to the park to run through forms, anyway. He had his lightsaber out, and his practice sword off to the side in case someone managed to show up anyway, mostly because it didn't hurt to be prepared. Stance had tagged along again, but had been given strict instructions to entertain himself as far away from the ducks as possible without leaving the park. And Kanan was running through forms.

Maybe now wouldn't be a bad time to try to run through his Jar'Kai again. One lightsaber and one bamboo sword. Yeah.

He really needed some real action, damn it. Whether it was another job with Hera or bloodying up his knuckles in a bar somewhere didn't much matter to him.

"Yeah, I'm going on a couple of years now," Kanan replied, amused, "I work at the diner, used to teach a little at the school. And I'm here basically every Friday, waving my glowing sword around."

"I bet you showed up while I was gone," Raven mused. "I haven't really been very social since I got back."

"Might have," Kanan mused. "The island was doing a lot of moving around when I showed up. That ring a bell?"

[tigerundercover]

"Yeah, nope. And I'm guessing you don't spend much time on the preserve."

[uncertain_dume]

"Not usually," Kanan agreed. "I used to spend more time there back when Master Kenobi was still around, but the dog likes the park... slightly less since he was attacked by ducks, granted... so I tend to stick around here, these days."

[tigerundercover]

"Attacked by ducks?" Raven looked at Stance. "Honey, when I was a pet dog I definitely wouldn't let ducks boss me around."

[uncertain_dume]

"Stance... is a gentle touch," Kanan said, looking sideways at the dog, who was looking between them with a little whine. "He likes to play with the ducks, but the ducks never quite realized that he's only playing."

"You want me to have a talk with them?" Raven offered Stance.

Raven could not actually have a talk with the ducks.

Stance just tilted his head and gave his tail a little wag.

"Can you do that?" So help him, Kanan was curious. "They're not exactly great at listening."

He also knew that from experience. Though it was surprisingly easy to incite them to riot.

"Nope," Raven said. "I could disguise myself as a sexy lady duck and distract them, though."

"You could," Kanan said, laughing and shaking his head, "but do you really want all the boy ducks flirting with you all for the sake of my dog's pride?"

"I suppose it might make the alots jealous," Raven said. "Huh, I wonder what an alot of jealousy would look like."

[uncertain_dume]

"It would probably be green," Kanan mused. "That's about as far as I can guess, though."

Jealousy wasn't an actual tangible physical object, after all.
