Prom 2018, Community Center, Friday Evening

Sure, the extreme winter weather had come and gone, but it had clearly still been on the minds of those in Student Council when they'd planned tonight's dance, as the theme went in the complete opposite direction.

Welcome, Fandom, to a tropical paradise!

There were palm trees, of course... as well as giant tissue-paper flowers hanging from the ceiling and brightly colored cutouts of frogs and parrots decorating the walls. Possibly with a good deal more glitter than one would usually associate with such a theme, but this was Fandom.

Ada gave a whoop of delight, throwing her arms around him for another hug. "I gotta have you out to th' carnival, too," she reminded him, smiling widely. "They're starting to get used to th' idea I got friends who I trust."

...Chester would probably still make him take the Marti-test, but that was fine. It hurt a little less each time.

Dante grinned. "Maybe next weekend?" he said. "We can keep this party going a little while longer."

"I'd like that," she admitted, going up on her toes just a bit to brush a little kiss over his cheek. "I miss havin' you around every corner."

"'s why I wanna leave," Dante said, after a short moment of silence. "I don't like it here without you and Iz and Ez and Alana. The place feels empty, you know?"

"Yeah, I don't even recognize most of these people," she said, waving a hand at everyone around them. "It just... one thing for a weekend here an' there, s'long as there's other people, but I couldn't stay."

It's why she'd gone back to the carnival, even with the option to stay and teach, or just work, or go anywhere. It just wasn't worth it without her people.

"Kathy thinks I'm gonna be prom king," Dante said, snorting. "But I don't think so. I don't hang with these people anymore."

Dante grinned. "Tell Hya I said hi," he teased. "And we'll throw a party with him in it next weekend."

"Helping save him from the convent," she giggled. "I'll ask an' see if he's available, but I don't think he'll complain one bit."

Both of her favorite boys needed to socialize more, and Ada was happy to drag them both to the carnival to do it.
