Luke's, Sunday
Kanan was spending much of his morning just glowering at the Luke's staff.
They insisted they were doing this to be helpful, for his own good, but he suspected they were just being jerks in the wake of the whole tremens thing. That seemed to be their M.O., after all.
Today's Specials:
Coffee-Rubbed Cheeseburgers with Texas Barbecue Sauce
Coffee Jelly
Coffee Pancakes
Kanan sighed and shook his head. He was certain Summer would appreciate the jelly inspiration, but he was pretty sure he'd have to dive on the specials board to hide it if Kitty came in today.

And it looked like someone had moved onto the stage where she felt better about gloating, just a little bit, as long as it was a vague sort of gloating that didn't actually land too close to acknowledging exactly what she was gloating about.
Summer took a seat and side-eyed the specials board, mostly out of habit, because when had she ever ordered from the specials board except for maybe one or two times? "But not coffee pancakes," she said. "Blueberry. With chocolate chips. Are they seriously doing a coffee thing today?"

At least she figured half of what she created might be blamed on her grampa for keeping alien lifeforms in the kitchen fridge again.

Probably by adding peas or something.

"I already have a few ideas," Summer admitted with a nod, "but I'm not saying anything, because I'm sure they'll steal them just as soon as I step out that door. Probably even before that while I'm still here."
And then there was a slight pause, where she sort of felt herself reach the end of her ability to banter about the kitchen staff stealing her jello empire, so she figured she'd just go ahead and ask then, tilting her head at Kanan slightly.
"How are you feeling, by the way?"
Party planning could only distract her from wondering to a certain point, after all.

He shrugged.
"Getting a little fed up with coffee, though."
no subject
Not that it was hard to look better than how he had looked...

“Oh, that’s just mean,” Kitty said, taking a seat.

And then she said, “I don’t know what I’m basing that on except they make me pancakes all the time.”

He shrugged again, and then added, "How are things going with you?"

He could have started a list, sure. Rey, Summer, Gratuity...
"So, what are you teaching?"

"Looks like my kind of food. I'll have the burger. How've you been?"
no subject
He wasn't going to go as far back as the 'also in some future somewhere, I'm super dead' part.
"You?"
no subject
He shrugged. "In my defense, I had to get more than a little tipsy for the effects to last long enough to do any good. And the batter had a really big sword."
no subject
He shrugged.
"There are better reasons to swear off drinking for a while, but that's the one the island gave me, so."

"Which part of it?"
Because around here?

Look, Kanan was a Jedi. Maybe if he'd spent more time meditating and less time drinking...
He shrugged.
"Guess we'll never know, now."
