Sparkle was rocking the aromatherapy candles today at work. Basically, he was kind of low-key freaking out over Atton, since the situation he'd described hadn't seemed... so great. At all. But if he just, like, wrote a candle off to burn while at work, he'd totally get a solid hit of soothing apple blossom right to the sinuses, and he'd have a nice calming little fire to stare at for a while.

This job was pretty okay. Look at him, all not going out into Baltimore and freaking out and burning something big down. Go team PYP.

There was some bubble bath with a similar scent to it, too. He was so taking that home to try out, dammit. It was possible that his entire paycheque from this place was basically just going to go into buying the merchandise.

There were still plenty of things she didn't know about Sparkle, but Sia knew enough that she felt like she should at least check in, given the Atton thing.

They're a distraction. A calming, burny distraction.

You have no idea how tempting that actually is, seriously.

Perhaps consider limiting it to one a week. You probably don't want Atton coming back and thinking he walked into some kind of ritual.

Considering the fact that Atton was well aware of Sparkle's sketchy history regarding fire, he doubted 'a ritual' would be the first thing that came to mind.

I figure it's either this, or I compulsively clean EVERYTHING. Maybe both. I could probably do both.

It's going to be fine.

No, she didn't know that for sure, and no, she wouldn't admit that here.

[intraspective]

Ino was in a really great mood. It had everything to do with the sparkly ring on her hand.

That was why she had copious amounts of sugar with her, in the form of ice cream sundaes for both her and her minion--Sparkle had better like hot fudge and strawberries, darnit--as she swanned through the door.

"Minion!" she carolled. "Consider yourself drafted!"

A beat.

"Also ice cream! Here!"

Good minion keeping meant feeding them sugar, right?

Fortunately, Sparkle loved hot fudge and strawberries. He was vaguely confused by hot fudge and strawberries. But he liked them!

"Drafted?" He blinked as he reached out for the sundae. "For what?"

[intraspective]

She let him have his sundae, grinning as she did so.

"I haven't really decided yet," Ino said cheerfully, digging her spoon out of her own sundae. "But as my minion it's a law that you're drafted to help with my wedding."

[myownface]

Sparkle blinked up from his sundae at that. Well, this was a good distraction, too.

"Wedding, huh?"

The last wedding he'd agreed to help with he'd almost died at! But he was game to try!

[intraspective]

Ino was not going to be deterred by his lack of glee. Not even a little.

"I suppose we could elope," Ino mused, tapping her cheek with her spoon, "but that'd break Zack's parents' hearts. So no."

[myownface]

At least at that, Sparkle managed to crack a grin.

"Gotta consider the important folks when planning things like this, huh?" He scooped up a bit of strawberry on his spoon. "I took care of the music for Dr. Lecter's wedding...s. Until like the third or fourth try. Once guns came into the picture a second time, I was out."

And then they'd finally eloped. Thank god.

[intraspective]

Ino laughed.

"I solemnly swear that no party I've ever had a hand in has gone that badly."

Mmmm, ice cream.

[myownface]

"And see, that is what I like to hear," Sparkle laughed, raising his sundae in a toast. "Okay, then I'm officially drafted for... whatever. And congrats, by the way."

[sharp_man]

Hannibal was working on...things...that prevented him from coming to visit Sparkle in person, but he could still call.

So he was doing so.

Ring ring!

[myownface]

God help Sparkle if he ever realized there were... things.

"Hey?"

Sparkle's phone mannerisms needed work when he was distracted.

[sharp_man]

Hannibal just shook his head. "Hello. How are you doing today?"

[myownface]

"At work, mostly?" He didn't sound so sure about that. "I was looking for distractions earlier, but Sia and Iris gave me... homework, I guess. So that's not bad?"

[sharp_man]

"They likely listen to radio the same as I do," Hannibal surmised. Or they just had really good timing. "Hearing that Atton has left, I was planning on much the same. How is that homework?"

[myownface]

"They both want me designing clothes," Sparkle offered. "Iris even specified she wants a purple coat like the red one I did for my Riding Hood final design."

It was still weird thinking she was willing to pay for it, but hey... He'd take it.

"Why, what'd you have in mind?"

[sharp_man]

"What else?" Hannibal said. "Cooking. Or perhaps helping me plan where to go for my class this term. Which, by the way, is at the community center, and I hope I will see you for at least some of it."

[myownface]

"I can probably make a few appearances," Sparkle replied after a moment. "I haven't even gone looking at what the community centre stuff is. I just got out of weekly classes, you know? What are you teaching?"
