"Good evening," Hannibal greeted everyone, smiling. "I am Doctor Hannibal Lecter. These evenings will be less of a class, and more of a challenge and an experience. The idea is this: you will each bring me something, and I will make a meal incorporating it all. Please keep in mind that you, not I, will be eating it. Also, if you bring me something inedible, I will use it as a part of a garnish or table decoration." He was possibly looking at a few of you there.

"I hope we will enjoy this time, however tonight is for introductions: please let me know who you are, why you are taking this, and if you have any allergies or aversions to food. Then when we are done with that, I have a number of cookbooks here," he put a hand on a substantial ~~moddable~~ pile, "and access to the internet. Please feel free to browse them all and let me know if you have any questions. And before you leave today, I can furnish vouchers for purchasing food should you like."

He nodded at the first person. "Please, introduce yourself."

Wonder what Hannibal considers inedible.

Tennis balls, FTR, are inedible.

Reno was mostly here for shits and giggles, yeah. But now he was already considering what in the world he could possibly bring in that was both edible and a terrible troll.

Considering where he worked, it was a large, horrible list.

Ino was definitely pondering what Hannibal would consider inedible.

And how much fun it'd be to bring something in that was.

Starting with...you!

"Name's Reno, I'm takin' this because I need to get out more around here, and I ain't got no allergies, yo."

Introductions were so painlessly simple once you'd been around the block on the island a few times. For a decade.

"Welcome, Reno. And welcome back," Hannibal added with a nod. "You are the same Reno that was here a year or so ago?"

"Ain't lived on the island in four years," Reno replied, amused, "but I come back for all the good parties, yo. So yeah, I'm that Reno."

He was kinda flattered to be remembered. Granted, he was pretty memorable.

He was. Hannibal nodded. "Has anything in particular brought you back?"

"Boredom," Reno replied, lying through his teeth. "Why does anyone come back?"

Hannibal raised an eyebrow, but beyond that didn't comment on the obvious lie. "I wouldn't know; I've never left."

"Hey, I'm Iris," she said easily. "I'm takin' this 'cause the name made me laugh and I like the teacher."

Both things were true!

"I got preferences, but I ain't got no allergies."

Hannibal smiled and gave her a small bow. "And I'm pleased to have you here, even if you have given me no end of griping to listen to about the artistry of brooding. Welcome."

Reno had made himself comfortable and pulled out his phone for this part of the exercise, and was doing as Reno was wont to do, googling things like 'edible body paint' and 'candy underwear' because... Reno.

He wanted to see how far this guy's poise held, okay?

Ino had thought of pulling out her phone, but the cookbooks had proved to have more of an allure for her, so she was sitting with a pile of them and going through them.

And maybe getting distracted by the pictures. Cookbooks always made things look so tasty.

Normally he'd bring food already just because, but I am up at godawful early and yesterday wiped me, so. Take it as read?
