She'd close up for a while during the Wednesday event, but the time before and after, Breq was at Groovy Tunes, going through old tapes. The recording quality was bad, but the mix of songs interesting, and judging from the cases, a lot of these had been gifts for a loved one. That in itself moved Breq. Of course, no one would ever have given her such a thing, but she remembered how she had shared the joy of one of her favourites when they had received a song made for them by a lover, a sibling or a relative. Usually those songs had been terrible, but the giver had put a lot of love into them, and Breq suspected that had also been the case with these mix tapes. Some of the songs brought tears to her eyes, but mostly she just hummed along, pleased that the Silence wasn't around.
