Not even an adult entertainment and sexual health store was immune to some of Fandom's weirder effects. Kathy had come into work to discover the DVDs were in some kind of turf war with the novels. She tried to break it up several times, but as soon as her back was turned, one or the other would launch an attack, which mostly seemed to involve literally piling up on the other side.

Eventually, Kathy just gave up and went behind the counter to practice her guitar. She'd let the two sets of merchandise get it out of their systems and then clean up when they were done. Honestly, as far as weird went, she was getting off not-dirty pretty lightly and she knew it. Considering what was on her shelves, this could have been way more embarrassing.

"It's been a while since I filmed any of that," Dante lamented.

"What do I keep saying?" Kathy said, tutting. "I mean, not that I get a say anymore, now that we're broken up."

She looked truly devastated over that, too. She was sucking on that lollipop with a lot of...sadness. Sure.

"Yeah, I get to keep all the footage."

"Not the stuff on my phone," Kathy told him. "I'm keeping that. I get it in the divorce. Along with all the toys."

"We bought at least some of those together," Dante protested.

"Yeah, but you get to keep the cats," Kathy pointed out. "You're just gonna lose the pussy."

"No reason to take the sausage too," Dante sighed.

"Yes there is," Kathy protested. "Spite. You can replace them, you'll just have to do it from the only game in town." She grinned at him. "Me."

"Oh, so you're trying to blackmail me," Dante summarized.

"Nope, I'm just being a bitch," Kathy said, cheerily smiling at him. "The blackmail's just kinda, like, an extra bonus. Is this that power thing you were talking about earlier?"

Dante groaned, collapsing dramatically on the counter.

Kathy laughed and dropped a kiss on the back of his neck. "I'm sorry for calling you a hipster," she sing-songed, not even bother trying to sound believable.

"No, you're not," Dante groaned.

"Not even a little," Kathy agreed, positively gleeful. "In fact, I've come up with five more hipster jokes to use on you. But you look so sad that I thought I should be nice to you."

"Seriously, you are so the worst," Dante said, pulling her down towards the counter with him.

Kathy bent over, face inches from his on the counter, dimples making her attempts to hide her smile completely useless. "Hiiiii," she said, just happy they could be ridiculous together.

"I got you now," Dante said, making big eyes at her.

"Oh no, I have been caught," Kathy said, very clearly in peril here. "Whatever shall I do?"

Besides steal a kiss, shh.

"Surrender?" Dante suggested, kissing her back.

[spin_kick_snap]

"Sounds like the kind of thing that we'd have to move into the back room to do properly," Kathy said. "Too bad we're broken up."

"Wanna get back together?" Dante asked.

[spin_kick_snap]

"Mmm, I dunno..." Kathy said, pretending to think about it. "On the other hand, it would be a pain in the ass separating out the toy collection."

Rimshot.

"Okay, I guess we can get back together again." Her smile was slow. "Which I guess means...I surrender."

"Okay, good," Dante said, and pushed away from the counter.

And lifted her off of it but a moment later.

Kathy laughed, her arms around his neck. He knew what just lifting her up did for her, the brat. "Whatever are you going to do with me?" she asked, batting her eyes at him.

"Supply closet," Dante informed her, carrying her across the store. "And beyond. Haven't figured that part out yet."
