Kanan showed up for his Luke's shift a little earlier than usual in the hopes that he could coerce the cook into maybe making breakfast for him before customers started coming in for a change.

"... What do you mean, we don't serve pancakes anymore?"

The cook gave a solemn nod of his head.

"They just don't feel right. You wouldn't want me to make something that doesn't feel right, would you?"

"And what's that supposed to mean, 'feel right?' This is a diner! Pancakes have been our Sunday thing for a year and a half now! It's on the menu!"

Caf! Urgh, how could she have forgotten about caf?

The Sanchez side of her might be a little thrilled to potentially be BDG's main source for caf. Mwa ha hahaha.

"Don't act so surprised," Summer snorted, tossing her ponytail a little. "Like I don't have my shit together some of the time.

"Oh, but that does remind me. I've gotta swing by the Community Center to talk to someone about a class. I'm gonna teach a class, too. You're gonna take it. I'm not telling you what it is, but you still have to take it. Deal?"

There was possible future caf on the line now, Jarrus.

"Whatever you teach, I'll take," Kanan said easily. "Makes up for the fact that you managed to miss each and every class I taught while you were a student here."

... Which probably would have just made this friendship really weird anyway.

"Sure, let's call it a deal."

Why not? He was already contracting himself out to babysit an all-nighter for a baby that wasn't even born yet. He was feeling ambitious today.

"Good," Summer nodded, glad that it had been easy, not that she was expecting a fight or anything about it. "Then that guarantees that I'll have at least one student."

Not that she was worried or anxious about that at all, psshh, shut up, whatever!

"Maybe two, if you can convince Hera to come, too. You planning on teaching again?"

"I'll mention to Hera that you're teaching something, I'm sure it won't be a difficult sell," Kanan replied easily. "And yeah, she and I are teaching together again this semester. You're always welcome to audit, if you can find the time around being a fancy businesswoman and all."

"Awwwww," said Summer, and, hey, it should be allowed because she hadn't properly fangirled in, like, forever, and maybe now she might have just gotten a particularly evil idea for one of her lessons...

"What're you gonna teach? And I'll definitely try to make time to stop in at least a few times."

"Heh, yeah," Kanan replied, and there he went, grinning that stupid grin up toward the ceiling. "We're teaching a class that's more about... just helping people, I guess. Charity work? Making a difference. It was either that or taking a tour around the solar system again, and that gets repetitive after a while."

Somehow, she managed to double it. Good to know graduation hadn't killed any of those special teenage girl swooning powers.

"That is, like, so wholesome and shit. I love it."

"Yeah, the wholesomeness is all her," Kanan shared. "I'm a terrible influence, they should never trust me with students."
