The beach, late Monday afternoon
Rufus had said he had lightning "spells" of some sort, and Lana was curious about them, so she'd showed up to the beach to compare notes. And lightnings.
This could be very interesting.
And if Rufus didn't show, well - a beach was still a fairly novel experience for Lana, so she was going to remove her boots, roll up her leggings, and see what the water felt like on her feet.
[OOC: Open beach, open post! Come meet the Sith or just hang out.]

Beach (non-Sithly)
Beach (Sithly)
Re: Beach (Sithly)
"Enjoy your classes?" he asked mildly.
Re: Beach (Sithly)
Lana nodded to him and headed back onto the beach, shaking the water off her feet. "There's not much to tell so far; we've mostly done introductions. One of the teachers cast an illusion over himself; I'd love to find out how, but if he knows, he isn't saying. You said you didn't have any today? What do you do when there aren't classes?"
Re: Beach (Sithly)
He was getting really good at not thinking. There was something to be said for apathetic numbness. He knew sooner or later he'd have to deal with it, but for now, it was nice to be able to just chill with some rocks and the surf and the ... far... far too open sky.. and let his brain catch a nap.
He saw the blonde girl wading further down the shore. Since he wasn't a teacher, and because he couldn't think of any way to approach that didn't have absolutely bad and creepy optics, he stayed where he was. If she came over and spoke with him, cool. If not, he could just throw rocks for awhile.

"I'm begging your pardon," he said, approaching the other man cautiously. "I don't suppose I might trouble you for a moment?"

The tone was mildly curious and a little resigned, as if he fully expected the answer to be 'yes, here's another thing that will hurt your brain'.

Well, that was a mouthful. Welcome, new guy?
Re: Beach (Sithly)
"Ms. Amaya had mentioned that her last teachin' buddy also washed ashore," he noted, looking thoughtfully back along the beach. "Apparently it's a more common occurrence than I'd imagined."
He paused a moment.
"Sorry, the island needs us?"
Re: Beach (Sithly)
Uhoh. "Has anyone told you anything at all about the island yet?"

The fact that one of his students happened to be wading around in the water right where he had woken up some few days ago was... awkward, a little.
Still, he gave a polite nod in her direction as he wandered the shoreline, trying to see if he could find the exact spot he'd woken up the other day. The tides seemed to have tidily wiped all evidence of that away. Sigh.

Re: Beach (Sithly)
Occasionally he would crouch to clear the sand away from some odd piece of detritus, hoping to make out anything even remotely familiar. Ultimately, he just wound up with a few bits of sea glass, a rusted belt buckle, and a nickel.
He sighed.
Well, that was a waste of his time, then. Damn this island.
Re: Beach (Sithly)
"Looking for something, instructor Fjord?"
Re: Beach (Sithly)
The odds, admittedly, looked like they were stacked against him.
