The Holoscene, Tuesday

Raven had an actual reservation today. Someone had contacted her and asked to reserve Holosuite Two for several hours. Sure, she'd had customers before, but somehow, this made it all feel that much more like a legitimate business.

Hey, maybe she could do this whole being a grown up adult type human person thing after all!

Raven finished setting up Holosuite One in a hurry, then turned back to the specs for Holosuite Two. This was going to be fun.

[this thread reserved for those who know, please. Note: no squirrels are going to get into the suite for direct observation, but the players involved and the general theme of the event is a-okay for broadcast.]

Eliot stepped through the doors of the suite and took a look around. The room was programmed with a full-on boudoir feel, complete with plush chaise lounges and thick, soft furs. The walls were a warm gray color and wrapped close around a large circular bed. Eliot raised an amused eyebrow
and looked up. Sure enough, the entire ceiling was done up in mirrors.

He chuckled as he took it all in, unbuttoning the top couple of buttons on his shirt before sprawling on one of the chaises to wait for his host for the afternoon. Parker sure had outdone herself this time.

Hardison had gotten the message from Parker and hopped on the very next portal home. He'd been debating coming home for days now - hell, he'd been debating coming home pretty much the minute he'd left - but...ugh. Things. Reasons. Timing. His mun was a trashfire

But coming in to this, from a door opposite the one Eliot walked into, had him very glad with his choices. "Hey, hey," he said, sauntering in. "A sign you missed me, mama?"

Eliot sat up with a small frown.

"Since when do you call me 'mama'?"

Hardison made a very undignified noise of surprise and alarm when the voice he heard turned out to not be the voice he was expecting.

"You set this up?" he asked, confused.

Eliot rolled his eyes. "Yes, Hardison, I set up the fancy computer simulation and then pretended to be Parker to invite you in." He shook his head and got up. "You know what, I'm just going to go home."

And then tripped, face-planting onto the shag carpet, when shackle suddenly appeared on his ankle, locking him to the chaise.

"Dammit, Hardison!"

Hardison rolled his eyes right back. "Yes, Eliot, I walked in here all surprised to see you an' then tied you to the chair in the time it took you to take a step."

See? You weren't the only one who could be snide, Eliot.

...Which probably explained the handcuff attaching him to the bedpost.

"The hell?!? Holoscene, grant mainframe voice access!"

"Access denied," the computer said pleasantly.

Eliot startled at the voice, which sounded much smoother and more human than any computer he'd heard speak before.

"Raven?" he called, sitting up to start picking the lock on the shackle. "This you thinkin' you're funny? 'Cause you ain't!"

"I dunno," Hardison said, motivated by his desire to defend his TA and also be contrary. "It's a little funny. Ow!"

The chain on his handcuff shorted, whacking his hand on the thick post. "A'ight, less funny now! Holoscene, override access denial, priority ultra-alpha!"

It always paid to put in back doors, on the off-chance your tech turned sentient and evil. Too bad for him, he'd shown Raven all the little back doors he'd installed.

"Priority ultra-alpha access: denied," said the computer.

"What the fuck, man?" Eliot groused. He got the shackle open and stood up again. "So much for the world's greatest hackurk!"

And down he went again, this time with both ankles locked together.

"I thought you guys would have figured it out by now," Parker suddenly said very cheerfully over the intercom system. "You have to cooperate."

Eliot pressed his hand over his eyes without getting back up. "Parker. What did you do."

That was mostly rhetorical.

The manager's office had several displays set up, showing what was happening in the two holosuites. They typically went unmonitored unless a problem came up, but — well. Monitoring was a key part of this particular client's reservation request. . . .

Parker popped her head into the office, followed by the rest of her. Bearing a big paper bag of popcorn.

"Did I miss anything good? Did you remember the-- thing?"

The Mastermind was in the house!

Raven offered her a sly grin and waved her over to the monitoring station. "All -- 'things' -- present and accounted for," she said. "The two eagles have just landed."

"The two dodos," Parker said, with a small grumpy glare. Then her expression cleared, and she perched on top of the console, smirking back at Raven. "Aww, look at them. They're so cute when they're confused."

"Do we?" Parker considered that, then shrugged. "It works. Mostly." She took a bite of popcorn, and started snickering as Eliot face-planted. "The recording working like it's supposed to?"

Raven checked the feed and nodded. "You're going to be able to lord this over them forever."

Parker started laughing as the guys kept yelling. And restraints started appearing. "This brings back memories. Heeee."

Parker grinned at her, and offered more popcorn. "Thanks again for helping with this. I figured out a way to do it without the holosuite, but it would've taken way more time, accomplices, restraints, possibly some bribes, and there was a version of that plan where Hardison got a broken ankle. This is more fun."

As is hopefully evidenced by the fact that this is in a public comm, Holosuite Two's adventure is not going to be quite what Eliot is expecting. . . .
