The Park; Saturday Afternoon [10/06].

Naturally, Sidon had been incredibly excited for the opportunity to show Mipha around the island, both by land and by sea, and, naturally, she had been equally curious and delighted, though every laugh or soft smile or comment about not being able to get over how much he'd grown tugged at his heart so much that it nearly hurt. He could scarcely believe that it was her at all, that it had to be some figment of his imagination or some sort of fever dream or maybe something had been wrong with the pizza he'd eaten at the Student Council meeting or something, but no, it was actually her, in the flesh, albeit for a short time, she said, with a softness that broke his heart more devastatingly than anything else.

But still, he tried not to think about that too much. She'd asked that he not think about that too much, to just enjoy what they had for the weekend, but surely she had to understand that what she asked of him there was insurmountably difficult. Promising to protect their home and their people in her stead against the world-destroying Calamity seemed a walk in the park comparatively!

But the actual walk in the park they pursued was nothing short of lovely and heartwarming, and it was no surprise to him when, upon seeing the ducks, Mipha (who seemed so tiny and frail to him now, when he could remember having to gaze up at her with wonder and awe and she was always so looming and incredible to him) laughed and hurried over to see them up close, holding out her hands, and it was no surprise that the ducks seemed to have no hesitation in coming over and saying hello to her, when they'd always considered him with more suspicion and reluctance.
