Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Sunday
It wasn't Cable's usual day, but he wasn't the kind of man who got thrown off by things like normal and usual.
He did spend a lot of time in the back today, rummaging around the store room, tacking up maps and playing around with radios. But since that was in the back, firmly behind a locked door, no one would see it.
They would, however, see the jaunty We're Open! and Now Hiring signs hanging outside. And the door was open.
He would hear you.

She did pause thoughtfully by the door before heading in, though, tilting her head at the 'Now Hiring' sign.
...
"Well, only one way to know."
Yes, she absolutely did step inside and start looking around.

And so help her, she wasn't going to be unarmed if she could help it. Not here. Especially not now.

He settled in his seat with lazy ease. "How many do you want?"

"Two blasters, I can run through a pack each in the range easily..." she mused. "You keep them in regular stock? I don't want to be left in the lurch if I don't stock up now, you know?"
Especially now that apparently she'd alienated herself further from the entire population of the island, and all.

"Thanks," she said, managing by some miracle to not squee at the large man. A moment later, as she glanced toward the cabinet, she added, "So... you have a sign in the window? It says you're hiring?"
Working in the place where the blaster refills lived didn't seem like a bad life choice. Uh. Provided she could get hired, anyway.

After another short pause, she piped up again with, "I'm a quick learner."

"Sure, easy," she replied. "Just to be clear, though, what are your specificaions for who does and doesn't?"
She kind of came from the 'everyone has blasters back home' camp. Nar Shaddaa was either a terrible place for learning to make that kind of judgement, or possibly the best one.

He was... real easy about that.
He also figured he'd see what her definition of that was sooner or later.

Did they remind her even vaguely of some of the lowlifes that she'd answered to in her early years, before Nok had come along? No gun for you.
She made her way over to the cabinet and pulled out six power packs - three for each gun. Two for the range, one for emergencies. And then she made her way back to the counter.
"So, I'll take these," she said, "and a job, if you'll have me." A pause, and then, almost rebelliously, she added, "Fridays."

Like, all of it. Was easy. Vette blinked, but was totally willing to roll with it, nodding with satisfaction as she counted out the money and then adding, "So, is there anything else I need to know about this place?"
Now that she had aquired not one, but two jobs in as many days, maybe knowing what the job entailed would be good.

He thought about telling her not to go in the back room, but teenagers. That might actually give her ideas.

A pause.
"Has anybody tried that?"
You'd think there would be something about the clerk being surrounded by guns that would make them a little leery. No accounting for thrill-seekers, she supposed.

Vette paused for a moment.
"Ew." So, that about summed that up. She gathered up her power packs, and then broke into a bit of a smile. "Well, that won't be an issue on my watch. Pretty sure most of my classmates know I'd kick their butts if they tried."
Or at least give them a piece of her mind, anyway.
