Being covered in tinsel wasn't something she really enjoyed, but Breq faced it with stoic patience. As the Silence had some strands of it stuck in its fur, she felt a little smug, and even if its presence meant she couldn't hear any music she tried to play, it made things just a little better.
It probably meant the creature occasionally ventured outside, which was interesting to know. Breq made tea, and kept humming inaudibly, and tried to make use of the tinsel for decoration.
