Kanan's Warehouse, Friday Afternoon
Okay, so... Kanan could live with the holiday decorating that had clearly gone on in his warehouse overnight. It was... ostentatious, he figured was the word for it... a little more well-illuminated than he was used to.
There had been some, ah, some paint involved. And the crates were almost all wrapped up to look like large presents. He suspected that whatever it was that had gone on in here hadn't been the island's holiday weirdness, but he was willing to give it a day or so to process what to make of it before getting too concerned.
Maybe by then he'd admit it was all actually kind of nice. In a fairy lights and tinsel sort of way. He'd have to clear the tinsel out if he wanted to bring his dog back around, but the lights were fine enough, and... He glanced at the pile of training weapons and squinted a little. Were those candy stripes?
...
No, you know what, he was going to just use his lightsaber instead. A tactic that lasted all of three steps into his first form, when he lunged forward and found himself holding a well-lit tree branch.
........
So if anybody came into the warehouse today, Kanan was going to just be on the floor, meditating, with holiday baubles suspended in the air around him. Today seemed like a good day for meditation.

Happy Friday!
Still felt weird saying that.

Save me from teenagers.
The weirdness was the weapon thing. This could only be teenagers.

Helpful?
no subject
It's definitely bright. I don't hate it.
Things he wouldn't admit to just anybody.

Not him. But somebody.

It'd always been a weird holiday for Rey, but it was a pretty one.

It's mostly harmless, at least. I might feel bad using one of those crates as a table later, but there's not much to be done about that.
Except maybe to unwrap it.
How are things going for you this week?

The crates had been gift wrapped. Lights and tinsel and paint decorated.. all of the everything.
Kanan, sitting on the floor, decorating the air around him with holiday baubles.
"Uh," Kaidan began, finally finishing the step and closing the door behind him, "Are you feeling ok? Did you get bitten by a Coke-wielding bear or something?"
He couldn't figure out if the Spirit of Christmas had somehow infected Kanan or whether he was taking the absolute piss out of the holiday by over-the-top ironic decorating. It was Fandom, either was likely.

Slow exhale.
Hold the baubles.
"Pick up one of the practice swords and give it a swing," Kanan instructed, eyes still shut. "Really put your back into it."
He was having a day, Kaidan. The meditating was absolutely him having given up on Friday early.
no subject
"Ok," he agreed, "If it turns into another goddamn candy cane.."
He walked over and picked up one of the bamboo swords.
Swung.
Stared at the lighted evergreen bough suddenly in his hand.
"Huh."
A beat.
"At least it's not candy?"
Another beat.
".. Did you wind up with burned pine instead of burned peppermint?"
no subject
Kanan's reply to that was a grumble, also suspiciously zen, that didn't confirm or deny that assumption either way.
"The decorations are unrelated."
no subject
"Why did you decorate? I mean, it looks nice, but it's a little.. not really you," Kaidan asked.
no subject
"Oh, I didn't do this," Kanan sighed. Slowly, the baubles started to drift back to the pile nearby. "This was already like this when I came in today."
At least they hadn't stolen his damn ship again.
no subject
Polar bear. Whatever.
He looked around at the ...festive. Loudly, loudly festive.
"Do you want to leave it like this, or do you want to start tearing the paper off the gifts?"
no subject
Kanan sounded vaguely exasperated, now.
"I say leave it, at least until the holiday is over. And then I can burn that wrapping paper with extreme prejudice."
...
"And it's kind of pretty."
Shut up.

She stopped just inside the door and blinked. "Well, that's certainly festive."
It was probably more colours than she'd ever seen in one place before.
no subject
It was a very Jedi way to cope, he thought.

"Not likely," he replied. "I have my suspicions as to who was involved in this." He cracked open one eye and looked her way. "But it's harmless enough."

"Moderation," he explained. "Jedi aren't meant to amass material possessions. You won't find a wealthy Jedi. Enjoyment... isn't exactly a factor in most of what we do."
