Figuring today would be a mostly slow day, Summer was going through some paperwork and sales reports at the counter between customers, idly sort of plugging in numbers into a calculator so she could figure out projections for next month and see how to handle any windfall once the big shopping season was over.
Still, the numbers were...surprising, even though she'd expected a little bit of an uptick in some of the merchandise, and, after double-checking by entering it all in again, she let out a low, impressed whistle.
"Man, Apu," she said, shaking her head, but looking delighted, "we are killing it with the holiday stuff." Especially lights, it seemed. "Wonder what it's all being used for..."
If only you knew, Summer. If. Only.

*Summer didn't know who Scott was, but she both feared and respected him at a level she couldn't quite comprehend.
