Luke's Diner, Saturday
Miguel waited until he'd had his coffee to even argue with the cook.
"It's mashup day!" the man declared.
"How can you even have mashups without mashed potatoes?"
"There is a difference between mashing and mashing up."
"Fine, whatever, you do you. I'll handle them."
Today's specials:
Banana bread french toast
Peanut butter and jelly waffles
French onion mac & cheese soup
Mexican mashed potatoes
Mashed potato, queso fresco, and ham empanadas
Luke's was open!

He slid the pot and a cup in front of Seivarden. "You don't have to have them, but if you do and don't like them, we'll get you something else."

He wrote down the waffle order and set it on the couknter for the kitchen. "Do the island's weird things miss you a lot, or did you just get lucky?"

She continued: "So... you can do... that still?"

Miguel could occasionally be a little shit.
He hooked a thumb at the pot. "Doesn't that work for you?"

She smiled, shrugging. "I didn't mean to pry."

Like cars. Counters. Possibly small buildings.
"It's a gift."

Not really, but Seivarden wasn't sure what else to say.

Fortunately, the waffles came up, and Miguel transferred them from the counter to Seivarden. They, were, as promised, green.
"Let me know how those are."

Seivarden grinned, reaching for a knife and fork.
