Covent Garden Flowers, Friday (2/8)
It might be worth noting that, had she actually delved deeper into the history of Valentine's Day, Keyleth might have been significantly less enthused about the holiday. But since what she did know consisted pretty much of the bits she'd gleaned in Magnus and Cara's class and also what she'd gotten some of the shop's callers to tell her, she was fairly into the whole idea. It was a holiday about showing the people you cared about that they were important to you, right? What wasn't to love?
She had a sheet of paper and a pen out and was scribbling down ideas for her own flower orders in between customers and phone calls; she also had a line of small flower pots, filled with different soil compositions, arranged on the counter as Tickles wound his way between them as if patrolling the area, and was using her magic to make flowers bloom in each one just to see what colors they'd turn out to be based on the components of each soil mixture.
It was turning out to be a very fun, very engrossing way to pass the time. And hey, maybe it would come in handy next week too!
[OOC: Shop and post open! My cellular data connection has been bad this week, so please bear with my extra daytime SP, sorry.]

"Keyleth," he greeted, "Is it as crazy today as it has been all week?"

"Oh, hi, Fenris! Yeah, it's been --" She glanced over at her still mostly empty sheet of paper. "People are really hardcore about this holiday, wow. And weirdly specific about some of the things they want, and sometimes there's flower symbolism they're really not aware of and it shows because they have some unfortunate choices but I am not trying to correct anyone on that any more because it didn't go well and . . ."
She sounded a little rushed and manic, so it was safe to say that yes, the pre-Valentine's floral hysteria was in full swing.

"I don't understand the holiday," he admitted to Keyleth, "but people seem to be very excited about it. There's flower symbolism? Hm. Well, fuck it. I doubt Fjord would know it anyway." A beat. "I bought him some from the school fundraiser thing."
He took a breath and asked, "How can I help?"

She waved a hand over one of the plant pots and watched as a bright purple carnation blossomed from it. "Oh, neat. Um . . . I'm okay, really? Although maybe if you could help rearrange a few things, because wow are we running out of space in here, if you don't mind?"

He looked around, "Ok. What do you need me to move?"

She indicated a couple of large finished arrangements near the register. "I think those are ready to go in the cooler, if there's still room . . . and if you're sure you don't mind. I don't want to ask you to work for free or anything."

"I don't mind," he agreed, "I'm super bored today. I might go bother Fjord at the bar later but other than that I've no plans." He sauntered over and hefted the first of the arrangements to transport it to the cooler.
The.. remarkably full cooler. He rolled his eyes and began rearranging things to create a little more space. "What is wrong with people? How is this a thing?" he complained, "'I have affection for you but I can only expose it on this one day by sending you plant reproductive organs that will wither and die in a few days'. Bah."

Green, as it turned out.
"Anyway, I think it's nice to have a holiday that gives people an excuse to express themselves if they're not always comfortable doing it on an everyday basis, you know? It's sweet."
