Kanan's Warehouse, Friday Morning and Afternoon
Well, Kanan had figured after yesterday that he'd been pretty much finished with flowers for a while, since the apartment was hopelessly full of them until they had wilted enough to convince him that it was safe to throw them out without guilt, or something.
And then he'd shown up at the warehouse today, Stance trotting along at his side, to see... the giant pineapple built out of yellow roses and green carnations courtesy of Kaidan. And the much less insane bouquet of rainbow-spotted carnations with the card covered in quokka prints. He just buried his face in his hand and laughed helplessly for a few minutes. What the hell was this week, anyway? He made a mental note to bring treats to the T42 for the quokkas, to shake Kaidan by the shoulders, and to potentially go into business selling potpourri here on the island for the foreseeable future.
And then he made a point to pose Stance with the boquet of rainbow-spotted carnations tucked between his front paws - with very stern instructions to not eat the carnations - and sent the resulting photo to Rey and Summer both before moving the flowers up onto the top of some of the stacked crates so that Stance couldn't make himself sick by chewing on things he really shouldn't.
... There was really no meditating to be done with that pineapple there today, though. Running through forms with a practise sword would do, instead.
Huh. Had they moved?

This is perfect.

... The cop-out couldn't last forever, Rey. Sorry.
no subject
Not a great week. Yours seems better.
no subject
Are you okay? What happened?
Well. It was damning, really.
no subject
She never had any problem just doing something. Just saying something was another story.
no subject
And so he was going to ask it again.
Are YOU okay?
no subject
Yeah. It's just a ship.
She was okay. She wasn't even mad. It'd caused her to think about some things and now she was burying it all in denial.

He glanced at the pineapple and shook his head again.
"Well, they're definitely interesting."

... Less pretending, more just was, maybe. After a certain number of years just wandering the galaxy aimlessly, you kind of had to accept that it was your lifestyle eventually. "And how has your week gone?"
no subject
There were other reasons too, of course, but Kanan knew that already.
no subject
"Well, then we'll put you through your paces today. I trust you've been working on your form since last week?"

"Stance! Buddy! Come here, boy! Did you get Daddy flowers too? Awww! That's so cute! They match your spots!"
Hi Kanan.
no subject
The card certainly suggested it was Dave. And as Stance stampeded across the warehouse to say hello, Kanan just rolled his eyes and nodded toward the pineapple.
"And some other menace."
So mysterious.
no subject
It was.
Kaidan pretended to have no idea what Kanan was referring to. 'Other menace' indeed.
no subject
Look, he also figured it was Hernando, but he was clinging to the illusion, here.
"And that he knows what Stance looks like."
Ah, these two, just not addressing the pineapple in the room.

"Nah," Kanan replied. "That's too much effort. He'd have to actually find one of the students selling them, terrorize them, learn how to write so that they can be delivered to the right place..."
no subject
She looked at the giant flower-pineapple. "What is that?"
no subject
"An abomination unto flowers," Kanan offered.
This was not untrue.
Stance didn't seem to care-- he was trotting over to say hello!
no subject
"Why is there an abomination unto flowers in the middle of the room?" she asked.
no subject
Stance was totally jumping up, Lana. Hi! Did you have a face? Could he lick it? He was gonna LICK THAT FACE.
no subject
Congratulations, Lana was now very thoroughly licked.
She did her best to hold his face back by the ears. "You are the wettest land mammal I have ever met, you know that? Yes, you're adorable, and your tongue is a menace!"
no subject
Just imagine the ruin that was the entire apartment when that dog tore through it before anybody could apply a towel to him.
