Syndulla Scrap, Thursday
Vette was back at the scrapyard today, and was absolutely playing with her weird little localized weather machine thing again, yes. She had no idea where it had come from, but poking around the mechanics of it had her coming across a little storage compartment with notes for other crazy inventions, like... spray-on shoes?
How was that even a little bit a good idea?
Anyway, Vette was doing that instead of inventory, because why do your actual job when there were fascinating distractions?
Ones that apparently could make it rain spaghetti over the junkyard at lunchtime.
... That'd be fun to clean up.

After all, Vette had said there was a machine at the scrapyard that made pizza. She wouldn't honestly expect him to actually wait to see it if necesssary, would she?
Well, that was his cover-up, anyway, since his true intention was just that he wanted to see her, even if only for a little bit, before heading into the shelter. And he didn't exactl feel he needed an excuse, but it never hurt to have an arsenal on hand.
So then it was just a matter of locating her, and even that hadn't been too difficult. "Ah, Vette!" he called out, not intending to be sneaky (really, he knew it was futile to even try!) but rather hoping she'd be engrossed in her work enough to find the voice a bit of a surprise. "There you are!"

... And if she took this panel and turned it that way, she could make the serving portions much, much more reasonable...
Vette was just fitting the last of the components back into place when she heard her boyfriend approaching, and looked up with a smile when she heard his voice.
"Sidon!" She dusted her hands off on the coveralls she'd pulled on for the day. "Well hello there, handsome."

"Nah," Vette replied, grinning and making her way over to him to solicit a kiss. "I work in a scrapyard. The most pressing issues around here are, like, whether the bitey bits have escaped or not."
Which, in fairness, they sometimes did.

"Have they escaped?" Sidon asked, after that pleasant and very much needed business was attended to, with a note of excitement in his voice that clearly had no idea what would be in store for him during the rest of his day.

"Not yet," Vette replied, and then put an impish smile on for good measure. "But they could, you know. If something unfortunate were to happen to the fence..."

"If something so incredibly unfortunate were to happen to the fence," he postulated, on a purely hypothetical basis, of course, "I would certainly hope that such tribulations would only befall us after I have had the chance to witness this storied and mysterious pizza-making machine in which I have heard so much about."
You know, in that one text.
Soooo much.

"Well," Vette laughed, "then I guess I'm gonna have to show you the pizza-machine right away, just in case, huh?"
She spun on her heel, lekku swinging out dramatically behind her, and started toward the little machine. It looked kind of like a shuttle landing pod, or maybe a fancy washing machine, but it had a screen on it, and buttons and she set right to work, poking away at them.
"Ice cream... no... cookies, tofu, hamburgers... Pizza!" She grinned as she found the proper setting, and then looked back over her shoulder at Sidon proudly. "What toppings do you want?"

Just not too spicy, Vette, please.

And then she hit 'send.' The machine whirred to life, and then blasted off into the sky. Vette bounced on her toes while she waited.
"Just wait for this."
A few clouds moved in overhead, very specifically above the scrap yard. And then those clouds swirled and twisted and darkened until, all at once--
Plap!
A slice of pizza fell onto the ground beside them.
Plap! Plap!
And a few more.

And thank goodness for the shape of Sidon's head, because that would have been one right in his face as he looked up and laughed. "Pizza from the very sky? Vette! That is incredible!"

Solving world hunger, Vette. That was a thing.
