Syndulla Scrap, Thursday

Vette was back at the scrapyard today, and was absolutely playing with her weird little localized weather machine thing again, yes. She had no idea where it had come from, but poking around the mechanics of it had her coming across a little storage compartment with notes for other crazy inventions, like... spray-on shoes?

How was that even a little bit a good idea?

Anyway, Vette was doing that instead of inventory, because why do your actual job when there were fascinating distractions?

Ones that apparently could make it rain spaghetti over the junkyard at lunchtime.

... That'd be fun to clean up.

Although the weather had not cooperated nearly as much as Sidon had hoped it would, he had collected quite a few things over time that helped him to bundle up against the still-too-cold-for-reasonable-comfort temperatures, so that would help. He had made some arrangements to head into the shelter a little late that day, so that he could make the time to actually swing by the scrapyard after his class and on his way to work.

After all, Vette had said there was a machine at the scrapyard that made pizza. She wouldn't honestly expect him to actually wait to see it if necesssary, would she?

Well, that was his cover-up, anyway, since his true intention was just that he wanted to see her, even if only for a little bit, before heading into the shelter. And he didn't exactl feel he needed an excuse, but it never hurt to have an arsenal on hand.

So then it was just a matter of locating her, and even that hadn't been too difficult. "Ah, Vette!" he called out, not intending to be sneaky (really, he knew it was futile to even try!) but rather hoping she'd be engrossed in her work enough to find the voice a bit of a surprise. "There you are!"

See? It should hardly matter that it was still so cold when he could be warmed so by such a greeting and smile! Sidon beamed, ducking his head a little in a gracious greeting back. "You'll have to pardon me for arriving like this unannounced," he said, "but I simply had to come and see you today. I'm not interrupting anything too important, though, I should hope?"

And that pressing bit of information did seem to spark a very important question, but not one so important that it couldn't wait until kisses (yes, plural; call him terribly selfish, but he simply could not be satisfied with a mere one) were accomplished. That, after all, was the most important thing.

"Have they escaped?" Sidon asked, after that pleasant and very much needed business was attended to, with a note of excitement in his voice that clearly had no idea what would be in store for him during the rest of his day.

Sidon had arranged it so that he was expected late in for work that day, without entirely specifying how late. However...

"If something so incredibly unfortunate were to happen to the fence," he postulated, on a purely hypothetical basis, of course, "I would certainly hope that such tribulations would only befall us after I have had the chance to witness this storied and mysterious pizza-making machine in which I have heard so much about."

You know, in that one text.

Soooo much.

"Anchovies," said Sidon, enthusiastically, not immediately, per se, but pretty close to; any pause in his answer was caused merely by a bit of distracted appreciation for Vette's enthusiasm, "would be exceptionally delectable, and wonderfully pleasing to my palate. And perhaps we can make an addition of spicy peppers to please yours."

Just not too spicy, Vette, please.

Plap!

And thank goodness for the shape of Sidon's head, because that would have been one right in his face as he looked up and laughed. "Pizza from the very sky? Vette! That is incredible!"
