T42 - Friday

I totally know what day of the week it is, hush

The shop today was decorated with pictures and posters from the heyday of women's liberation. Suffragettes stood proudly in their sashes, women in trousers lounged on the steps of universities. The first female medical doctor and surgeon had a portrait front and center. A Rosie the Riveter poster hung on one side of the wall. Harriet Tubman's portrait bookended the doctor's. A print of Michelle Obama's official White House portrait was near the counter.

The color theme for the day seemed to be green, white and purple. Hernando smiled a little and patted the counter. "Happy Women's Day to you, too."

The pastries today ranged from delicate little sweets to Rosalie's giant decadent cupcakes. Savories in the form of hearty sandwiches and dainty little puff pastry cups filled with all manner of delights were in a cooled case.

He fed the quokka and took up station behind the counter.

Hannibal chuckled. "If you'd like a not unbiased opinion, he's welcome to join us, but I must insist upon the actual shopping."

"I will inquire whether he is interested with that caveat," Hernando chuckled. "Thank you. I would not wish to hurt his feelings by letting another tailor fit me. Sparkle has a very good eye for fabric and fashion."

It was not as if Hannibal didn't know that. Hernando was simply very proud of his boyfriend's skills.

"He does," Hannibal said, smiling. "He only lacks experience. But I have been with this tailor for years, ever since he was recommended by a friend of Jono's." Emma had excellent taste.

He also still had a tailor he'd been with longer back home, but there was always the chance that might turn into more excitement than Hernando was ready for.

"It sounds like it will be a very pleasant outing," Hernando agreed. He of course had a tailor back in Mexico City but that was in another entire country, and one the country he was currently in was having some.. issues with.. regarding the border.

"I hope it will be," Hannibal said. "He is in New York. But a different version of the city, and I can promise a portal there and back, and protection if it would help."

[hernando_fuentes]

Hernando froze a little when he heard 'New York'. He sighed and simply said, "As long as it is daylight, this should not be a problem for me. I, of course, cannot speak for Sparkle. He may have a different opinion."

Hannibal nodded. "Of course. Whatever you are both comfortable with."
