Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Wednesday
Fjord was in a pretty good mood today as he came in for class. His students hadn't rounded on and murdered a wounded metallic dragon and two homeless kobolds yesterday, which he'd halfway been expecting to see happen. And Monday's test run of Amaya's giant shuriken had gone better than expected, too.
... With the exception of a few moments spent on the flats of their backs, but hell, even that hadn't been terrible.
And that was why he was giving the large shuriken a grin as he made his way in to the foundry today. Maybe he was the tiniest bit proud that he hadn't completely biffed it. And it gave him that much more incentive to get back to working on the regular sized ones, keeping a careful eye out for quality as he went.

Though the real question was going to be whether she should try to top that one, or if she should simply acknowledge that one couldn't plan greatness like that. It just sort of...happened.
Well, she had plenty of time to think about it, and, for now, she had a hand that needed to be freed from a coffee mug.
"'Morning, Fjord," she said, heading over to hand it off.

"Mornin', Amaya," Fjord greeted, grinning and reaching for the coffee. Free up that hand, and all. "And how goes it today?"

A paying job could be very inspiring, after all.

"Not that this island is terribly rife with shiny gold coins," Fjord mused. And then grinned faintly. "Still, I get what you're saying. And you'll be wanting to top that throwing star somehow next, I'm sure."

"Show off your eye for detail and all that?" He glanced back at her, smiling crookedly. "That was a hell of a sword. Little too delicate for my purposes, but the craftsmanship was superb."
He was a long way off from being able to emulate anything that fine, and he kenw it.

Almost to the point of being unusable, she wagered, but, ah, now, there would be the delicate balance she'd have to strike!

And Amaya Blackstone was soon about to become their favorite customer. She shook her head, already starting to piece together some ideas and thoughts, and laughed a little. "Here I thought maybe I'd go get some inspiration from the kids in class today, but I should know better by now, that all it'd take was a little brain picking."

That was coffee out his nose.
He really hadn't seen that line coming.
"Shit."

Well. She hadn't expressly said no, anyway.
But Amaya threw that out proudly while she gave him a moment to recover, brows lifted, and now even more convinced she'd really struck on something with that one with a reaction like that.
"You alright there, Fjord?"

Hoo-hah.
