Kanan's Warehouse, Friday Morning and Afternoon
If it wasn't for the rain today, Kanan would have been out in the park training.
It was warm outside. Comfortably warm. Warm enough that he'd have ditched the long jacket entirely if not for the water coming down. But at the very least, the sound of rain hitting the ceiling of the warehouse was a soothing one, and it made falling into his morning meditations that much easier.
Come the afternoon, when he had a remote and his lightsaber out, it was just one more distraction. But that wasn't a bad thing. After all, it wasn't as though he'd be working without distractions back home. Ever. So, overall, a win.
Still, he couldn't help but be a little bit wistful about it. Maybe next week.

Yeah. Space Dad still worried.
"Afternoon, Rey."
no subject
"Hi," she greeted him. "How are you this week?"
no subject
"No complaints so far this week," Kanan replied easily. "There were tiny rodents in little costumes running around the island yesterday, that's about all the excitement there's been so far."
Sure, they had started a food fight in his class, but he'd come out of it fine, so what was the problem, right?
no subject
Was it weird to be excited that she recognized a Fandom thing?
no subject
Nah. It was something familiar. Familiar was nice, sometimes.
"Oh, yeah?" Kanan grinned a bit at that. "They had little hats with feathers in them and tiny guns and swords?"

Kanan chuckled a little at that.
"Aw, guys. They were pretty fearless, I'll give them that. They started a food fight in my class."
About culture shock. There were a lot of things going on, there.

".. just shut it, Alenko. You get the finesse and handling and I get what the fucking weaknesses are. You were taught better use of yours but I was taught how to exploit it when fighting other biotics. You wouldn't let any of your team go untrained in this shit and you fucking know it. Kanan ain't a biotic, that's true, but his shit's similar enough that we should figure out how similar, right? Make sure if there's some sort of cross-power combo it's at least on purpose?"
Take that logic and smoke it, Kaidan.

"We already did this once. It doesn't work like biotics vs. biotics. There are no combos," he muttered. Once they were inside, he appealed to a higher authority. "Kanan, would you tell her? She's not listening to me."

Kanan's lightsaber came up, a blaster bolt ricocheting off of the blade and going flying off toward a makeshift target he'd set up against the far wall. The remote zipped by his head, and he held out a hand, pressing the 'off' button through the Force and catching it before it could plummet to the floor.
"... What am I telling her?"

"Well, yeah, but that was just my shield," he noted.
Sorry, Kaidan.

"Not at all. I can crank up the challenge level and set it for multiple targets."
A pause.
"Something bothering you today, Lana?"

He tilted his head a little.
"Yeah, no, you're going to have to explain that one to me."

And he'd been raised to avoid relationships at all.
... Not that he was great at that.
