Luke's, Sunday
Kanan showed up at Luke's today and settled behind the counter, as usual. Put on a pot of coffee, as usual.
Blinked for all of a half a second and looked up to see the rest of the staff decked out in fantasy-style adventuring garb.
That part was unusual.
Today's Specials:
Adventure Pancakes!
"I have no idea what that even means."
Happy Sunday?
[OOC: I blinked and my family had assembled for a D&D session I hadn't prepped for, I blinked again as soon as I got my DM materials ready and they wandered off. Idek today. Open.]

... And that was about the moment the chicken trotted out of the kitchen, pulling a little cart with Sabine's meal strapped into it.

A pause.
"I suspect it involves steak, somehow."
He watched as the chicken did a lap of the room, hauling that little cart behind it.
"I'm honestly not sure if I'm supposed to catch it, or if you are."

Possibly because he wanted to see Sabine chase a chicken.

Because she wanted to see Kanan chase a chicken.
no subject
Because he really didn't want to chase the chicken, Sabine.

She hopped off her stool, and made her way slowly towards it, saying, "Here, chicken. Heeeeeee, chicken..."
no subject
Or whatever that tentacle monster living in the freezer along with it was!
no subject
It did not work.

"Nah, but this situation kind of is," he offered. "If you don't catch it in a minute, I'll step in. Don't want your milkshake to melt."
no subject
And now she was watching it, trying to see how the cart was attached.

... Which really just left Kanan wondering how long they'd been planning this, back there.
"Well, then by all means, catch it. Timer starts now."
Kanan, you ass.

She darted towards the chicken, sending it running in the other direction, trying to herd it towards the booths.
no subject
... He really wasn't. He didn't want to interrupt this.

It wasn't fast, but she got it.
"Okay this part I need help with," she said, because getting the rigging off a squirming chicken was not fun.

"Fair enough," he replied, making his way over and crouching down to hold a hand out toward the wriggling bird. "Hey, buddy," he said, soothingly, "relax."
Yeah, Sabine, he literally could have done this at any point during the whole adventure breakfast, but he had apparently been saving, 'make a connection and calm down the chicken' until now.

At least he was honest?
Also, a bit of a brat.

"A second shake," Kanan replied, grinning a little. "Sure, that sounds fair enough. A second shake as retribution for the chicken chase."
