After a rather rude awakening that morning, Miguel had fled headed off fled to work. He suspected Gabriel would be following him, but there was only so awkward things could get in public, right?

Shock, he knew the answer to that. Why was he here again?

"Hey, neat! Coffee!"

The cook watched his kid run for the pot and gave Miguel a shrug.

Right. Coffee.

He shoved the specials board out front.

Today's Specials
Peanut butter and jelly french toast
Cereal with milk
All-you-can-drink coffee

Luke's was open!

Etnys hadn't had breakfast, so here Seivarden was, a child in tow who looked about ten and wore gloves and a leather jacket.

"So, what would you like?" she asked the kid while looking at the menu.

"Peanut butter and jelly french toast," Etnys said firmly. "And hot chocolate. Do they make acceptable tea here?"

"I make black tea from the little silk pyramids, and I can take it out of the bags if you want," Miguel said shortly. "PBJ french toast!" he called back to the kitchen.

He nodded to Seivarden. "You too, huh?"

"This is Etnys," Seivarden said, trying not to look too proud and failing. "She found me at the flower shop and hadn't had breakfast, so here we are.

"Mother is going to show me the island this weekend," Etnys announced, not that her mother had actually promised such a thing.

There was no way her mother would say no.

"We should have tea in a pot, shouldn't we?" Etnys asked Seivarden.

Miguel shrugged and went to get the tea. "We've got pots."
