Caritas, Friday Evening
Fjord was at work today, absolutely.
Fjord was maybe the tiniest bit tired today, however. Not tackling his job with anything that particularly resembled finesse or enthusiasm, he was here to pour drinks and kill time, and looking up with just the slightest bit of wariness in his eye every time somebody walked through the door.
Which would be an interesting counterpoint to the way Tino was mixing drinks while wearing a pair of plush rabbit ears on his head, but there you have it.
[OOC: Open!]

"Cold bothers you?" Jack asked and considered it, "Huh. Ok. Yeah, I forget sometimes other people care about shit like that. I feel it. I just don't, y'know, give a shit."
Jack ignored.. most forms of discomfort, simply from habit. "Pain's basically background noise for me. Probably wouldn't even realize I was getting hypothermic until my fucking fingers turned blue."
She was good at taking care of herself, honest. "My big dumb squish had to yell at me to wear a coat, said I was making him cold just looking at me running around in the snow in a t-shirt."
Maybe less than good.

"Fenris has been on my case for months about getting proper winter gear," he noted. "It's him I'd put into fits by gettin' into that water. I was good and set to just tough that shit out. And hey," he grinned crookedly. "There ain't no need for a winter coat anymore."
Fjord... was not necessarily better at self-care. Nope.

"Next he'll be bitching at you to layer down," Jack said with a smirk, "Ickle tried to tough it out last year and Kaidan had to threaten to throw him in the fucking pond, so he says. Heat stroke is no fucking joke on this planet. One reason I'm not a fan. I like climate control."

"I'm not losin' the armor for shit," Fjord said, immediately. "Can't be any worse here than some of the destinations I've sailed to along the Menagerie Coast. I'll be fine."
... Sure, he'd sailed to those places, generally, while wearing a light shirt (now bloodied and hopelessly shredded) and some slacks, but nobody needed to know that.

"Then you should buy some lightweight shit for under it," Jack said with a shrug, "Shorts or something. Get the bastard off your back early."
no subject
"... Shorts for under the armor."
That sounded like a recipe for chafing. In a big way. Fjord looked dubious.

"Better than long pants in the heat, when the air turns to fuckin' soup with damp," Jack pointed out, "Right now you can walk out of the forge and catch a breath, cool down. That won't be true in the summer. Either real light pants that breathe or shorts."

"Shorts when workin' with super-heated steel probably ain't the greatest life choice," Fjord noted. "I'll figure somethin' out."
Hell, maybe he'd resort to wearing a dress. Seemed to work for Amaya.
... Maybe not.

"Thought that's what the long leather butcher's apron things were supposed to be for," Jack mused, "Don't tell me historical drama tv has lied to me."
Of course it had. It was television. Historical accuracy need not apply.

Fjord looked faintly amused at that, grinning a small, closed-lipped grin before replying.
"Sparks bounce, Jack."
