Luke's Diner, Saturday
Miguel walked in on an argument between the cook and the dishwasher as to whether to include an orange or a potato on the plate they were organizing.
"What about a banana?" the busboy piped up.
The cook threw up his hands.
"There's room for all of them, right?" Miguel said. "Just add a second plate if you have to."
The dishwasher marched back and found a large platter. The cook nodded.
Miguel went to get his coffee.
Today's Specials:
Matzo ball soup
Zinfandel braised lamb chops with dried fruit
Gefilte fish with horseradish
Lokshen kugel
The diner was open!

"I'm afraid you're going to have to explain the menu to me. Apart from the lamb."

As Seivarden didn't pay attention to holidays unless she was forced to, she wasn't really surprised.
She took a seat by the closest table. "Not one of the annoying ones, at least. This weekend seems quiet."

"No nasty things so far, at least."

"Hopefully it'll stay that way."
He got out the tea, sliced the bags open, and started it steeping, then got the plate of fish for Seivarden. It was a large (cold) ball with sliced carrots on one side and horseradish on the other.
"Enjoy."
