Town Hall, Thursday Morning
"Can anybody tell me anything more about what's going on here?"
Tamsin didn't just call town hall meetings twice in a row for fun, you know. ... Okay, maybe a little. Just to watch the anti-social ones scramble. Whatever. She crossed her arms, surveying the crowd.
"Anyone from the recon team? Anyone who's been sticking their faces in books for the past few days? What are these things, what's happening with the bitey, and who do we need to punch to get out of this mess?" Beat. "Chop chop."
... It was bound to be another informative meeting.

Re: Show Up
She shrugged. "I figured it wouldn't hurt," she offered. "These did the trick pretty well when my last school was taken over by vampires."
And, yes, she knew everyone had fancy weapons and she had her own fancy-ass blaster on her hip right now, but, come on. You just couldn't do vampire stuff without stakes, right? Right? Don't ruin this for her.
Re: Show Up
Look, she'd found something she thought worked, and she was sticking to it.

Re: Show Up
Those weren't vampires, Mae. And you were very, very lucky. Both that you got away and that you didn't have anything to stab them with at the time, since they weren't vampires.
Re: Show Up
Honestly, was Mae trying to argue against just having more weapons? What the fuck?
Re: Show Up
was established in a preplay later as having just her bathad kind of a weird relationship with violence that this whole thing was playing merry hell with. Plus, you know, those were little sticks. Offer her a battle ax and — she’d probably chop off her own foot— but she’d do it enthusiastically!“Those don’t look like they’d fit in my pockets.”
Re: Show Up
"Fair enough," she allowed. "S'not like it's required or anything. I just figured some people might like the option."
Re: Show Up
You just then had to deal with them potentially being ridiculous with their own choices.
Re: Show Up
She, meanwhile, just felt like it wasn't really vampire hunting without the stakes.
Re: Show Up
Mae was a terrible storyteller.
Re: Show Up
"I'll have to keep that in mind," she said, "if I'm having trouble. Just jump off the roof, maybe find a bat."
Yeah, no, she had a blaster. And she knew what she could do with a blaster, too.
Re: Show Up
Honestly, anyone would probably have been at least a little put off by it.
"And aim for the kneecaps."
Kneecapping both incapacitated most things and didn't usually result in bloody drama that could potentially trigger latent traumas! Win-win!
