Caritas; Wednesday [06/05].
Pancakes had absolutely no interest in going with Summer to her class yesterday; that was some primo napping time right there. Cats tended to lean a little more nocturnal, after all, so helping out at the bar today certainly had some appeal. Summer didn't exactly know what Pancakes planned on doing to help, really, but that managed to solve itself very quickly.
Turns out, Pancakes was not only exceptionally good at finishing off a drink by adding a nice cherry or a paper umbrella, but she was super cute while doing it, nudging the drink forward after it had been garnished with her paw or her head.
It was when there was a drink on the bar without a customer there to receive it that Pancakes clearly intended to nudge off the bar with her paw or her head that things got a little tricky.
...sorry for the broken glasses, Kitty! But lessons were learned.

"I want to check it out. We might go home if it's dull."
"We?"
The cat looked up at her.
"Are you going to let me walk home alone?"
"Are you going to just sit there?"
Issa raised a paw and began to lick it.

Sure, just because she could talk now didn't mean she couldn't still be rather particular in what she chose to say.
Which only let the task to Summmer, not that she minded. "You knoooooow," she called over, "this whole 'getting drinks' thing tends to work a lot better if you actually come into the bar."
no subject
Issa didn't look up. She was going to pretend that hadn't happened, and that she was now inside by her own choice. She had made her human do that.
Only now she realized there was another cat in here, and she pretended not to notice Pancakes as she followed Seivarden towards the bar.
"Do I want to know what a rainbow cake jelly shot is?" Seivarden asked.
no subject
"Yes," Summer answered brightly, already setting on in front of Seivarden, "you do, especially since the first one's free because you participated in the activity today!
"It's basically flavored vodka, gelatin, and a little bit of milk," she offered, in case she was somehow still skeptical, even when being presented with the cutest little rainbow jello shot ever. "Little whip cream and sprinkles on top, and voila! You won't regret it, I promise."
Especially since, you know....free.
no subject
Issa jumped up on to the bar, leaned close to sniff the jello shot, then quickly reached out her tongue to lick the tip of the cream off.
"Stop that!"
Seivarden frowned at her and pulled the glass away.
"You're not going to drink it anyway, are you? Oh, wait, it's free."
Now Issa turned her head to look at the other cat, tail trembling slightly. "Anything here you recommend?"
Was she larger than the other cat? She had more fur at least, so she might look larger.
no subject
"And I," Pancakes offered, "would suggest just a simple dish of water or cream. They don't have much to interest a cat in here, which is a bit ironic, isn't it, considering the person who runs the place is named Kitty?
"That's quite a coat you have there," she added, nearly purring with it, as she lifted her chin. "It must take you hours in grooming to get it looking that nice..."
no subject
Having so short fur and all.
Seivarden sighed. "Issa can have the cream. Even," she looked at the cat, "if it gives her stomach problems."
Issa looked extremely offended.
"I'll have a beer. I'm not in the mood for," she gestured at the shot, "bright colours."
no subject
Unlike, or so she could only imagine, such long fur.
Summer passed her dubious look, which was at first sent to Seivarden, over to Pancakes. "Just remember, you two," she warned them, "the protection on this place extends to animals, too. Don't get too catty there, or else both of you are going to wind up in the pond, and I can only imagine how much you'll both like that!"
"Summer!" Pancakes tensed slightly. "I would never!"
"Uh-huh," said Summer, totally convinced, but she'd gotten a saucer of cream for Issa and a beer for Seivarden from the tap, and set both of them down on top of coasters.
"So," she said, to Seivarden now, "what's got your mood so grey, then, hmm?"
Friendly Neighborhood Bartender to Tell All Your Problems To! That was her! Yup!
no subject
Issa pretended to ignore Pancakes' comment, as well as Summer's about the pond, and sniffed the cream.
no subject
"Oh, right," Summer said, shaking her head, "wouldn't want to have too much fun around here or anything, right?"
And to the sniffing cat, she was going to add something, but Pancakes got to it first, taking the words practically out of her mouth. "It's not spoiled or bad or anything, you know."
no subject
"I have to make sure," Issa said, "You can't just trust anything you're being served, can you. Or maybe you can."
She licked the cream.
"This isn't bad, though."
no subject
"And of course there are other ways of having fun," she added, to Seivarden, "but you are in a bar, and you don't really seem the karaoke type."
no subject
Yes, she was hinting that you let your human tell you what to do, Pancakes.
"What's wrong with beer?" Seivarden said, taking a sip from her glass. "You're quite right, I don't like singing in public. Not sober, at least."
no subject
That did not escape her notice, after all, and she stalked a little closer to Summer, plopping with an afterthought of grace of the counter in a way that put her head close enough to Summer's hand so that Summer would absentmindedly start petting Pancakes' head as she talked, a move that Pancakes thought was an expert and unconscious manipulation on her part that Issa would clearly have to respect.
"I'll make sure to cut you off before it gets to that point," said Summer. "I think I'd rather see Tino up there."
But as soon as she said it, she regretted it, and her face said as much. "Eesh, no, never mind, that is not true, and now I hope I didn't just give him ideas. But, anyway, it's not that there's anything wrong with beer, it's just....you know...boring, when there's so many other options."
no subject
"I actually prefer prawns."
"So you prefer hearing my singing to Tino's," Seivarden said dryly. "That's good to know. And I do drink whiskey too. And tequila. And vodka. And a few other things that aren't too brightly coloured. But sure, I'm up for suggestions that aren't disgusting or poisonous."
