Breq hadn't expected to end up owning a music shop, but it was hardly the strangest thing to happen since she had arrived on the island. She had more or less cleaned out the basement and turned it into functioning living quarters, but getting rid of all the boxes meant she had things to rearrange in the shop itself.
It turned out the Silence didn't seem to like changes, and it was quietly protesting - or that was Breq assumed it was doing - by lying on the counter glaring at her. It went without saying, but the place was silent.
Breq put a note on the door:

Apply inside
She didn't expect to get many applicants until the new students arrived, but at least she could try.
