The roof of the Pizza Planet, Friday morning
Mae was running around and jumping on things again this morning. Doing so yesterday hadn't brought the vengeance of the other toys down on her head, and it was at least some kind of vent for all the feelings broiling in her fluffy stuffed insides.
She flung herself onto the roof of the pizza place (oh god, she missed pizza . . . and eating . . .), landing spread eagle, flat on her face with a little whoompf noise. It didn't hurt, just squished her a little. (She kind of missed pain, too.)
She hopped back to her feet, ready to bolt across the roof and fling herself onto the next one, when she spotted something tucked in between the little nubby bumps of the lego-block roof. She toddled over for a closer look (squeak-squeak, squeak-squeak) and pinched it between her stubby little paws.
It was a nesting doll, elaborately painted. With a map.
Huh.
She looked around, then back down at the doll. It was already slipping out of her velvety smooth paws. After a moment of thought, she pulled off her little brown t-shirt, and with some false starts and careful use of all five of her limbs (so that was what a tail was for!), managed to tie off the bottom and stick the doll inside. She slung the resulting bag-type-thing onto her arm and started towards the warehouse district.
Hopefully without getting arrested for public indecency for not wearing her shirt.
[establishy!]
