And so Turtle & Canary has two new employees that morning, and Shunsui was hard at work making sure they were properly trained and settled.
Well, technically they weren't employees, as they were not getting paid (except, perhaps, in room and board and meals). And there was actually no training involved. Settling involved making space at the counter for a tank and a spot right behind it for a cage. And everyone knew Shunsui was allergic to work, especially of the hard variety.
But that first bit sounded so much better than any of that. Either way, Shunsui couldn't help beam with a little bit of pride over the fact that there was an actual turtle and an actual canary back at Turtle & Canary again.
Just to make things simple, because there was, after all, no need to complicate things, he'd dubbed them, lovingly, Turtle-chan ♥ and Canary-chan ♥.
Just like the old days! This called for a drink ♥!
