The Park, Friday Afternoon
It wasn't a bad day today to be in the park. It was a cloudy day, maybe, but not bad. They grey of the sky made the greens all seem to stand out in stark relief, and the blue glow of Kanan's lightsaber was like an electric streak as he worked his way through Ataru forms he'd learned in his youth. It was more aggressive than his usual Soresu by a long shot, yes, but it was something he'd been letting slip in a bad way, more confident and comfortable in the patterns he'd run again and again with his Master during the war.
Still, even a Jedi running forms that had begun to grow rust on them would likely present quite an impressive sight to those not well-versed in them, particularly once he started pushing himself into slightly more advanced steps, throwing quick strikes in succession and putting the Force behind the leaps and flips that no average human could manage.
... Occasionally just to avoid a milling group of ducks, granted. These things sometimes happened.
[OOC: Open park, open post! Mmm delicious Friday.]

"Want me to go a little slower so you can better see the shape of things?"
He was willing. Ataru might have been based strongly on speed and acrobatics, but doing the same motions slowly took its own sort of control, too.
no subject
She could see the benefits either way, actually.
no subject
"I'll go once, slowly, and then faster again the next time," Kanan settled on with a nod. "So you can see the technique of it, and then how it's actually applied in motion, then."
Split the difference! It wasn't like he was in any particular hurry to finish up, today.

Well. Whatever it was was impressive at least, so Duke stopped to watch for a bit. And looked around for a hat or something to toss some cash into.

That said, the show was about to end after a moment, when Kanan straightened up, shut off his blade, and glanced at the other man.
"Looking for someth--huh."
Look, there was a very particular aesthetic this guy had going, here. It was worth taking a moment to blink.
no subject
Seriously, this guy almost even had his nose.
no subject
What. Fandom. What have you done?
"... You must be new."
He'd have remembered a face like that.

Huh.
Cool, the new guy one mentor's face and her dead would-be mentor's job, this was fine.

"How's it going, Rey?"

You know, the one he wasn't teaching.

And she absolutely loved it when he did the flippy shit. So there you were, ickle, getting wolf-whistled and clapped at and occasionally fingers held up in a numeric score when you did something cool.
no subject
Yes.
Yes he was.
"Afternoon, Jack."
no subject
Jack laughed and applauded. "Afternoon, ickle. You're in rare form today. What the hell's up?"
no subject
He wrinkled his nose and made a so-so gesture.
"I haven't cut off an arm yet, anyway."
His own worst critic.

badgeringencouraging Kanan to spar, Lana nodded at her. "Good afternoon, Jack."no subject
"Hey Lana," Jack greeted with a smile, "How've you been? Been awhile since I've seen you. Classes going okay?"

....with her cat on a leash.
What? Pancakes needed to get out of the apartment more. And since she refused to actually walk with a leash, it was mostly just Summer carrying her around and then dumping her on the grass, which was fine by her. There were bugs she could hunt and eat and then regret eating in that grass.
no subject
"Hey, Summer, your cat's eating a bug," Kanan called from a stone's throw away, back... actually turned to the cat while he breezed through another succession of quick strikes with his lightsaber.
You know. In case she wanted to know.
