Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [10/23].
Strange and disturbing things were indeed happening all over the island this week: Shunsui Kyōraku had actually gone to work two days in a row.
Not that he planned on actually doing much work, mind you, except perhaps talking to customers, which he felt didn't really count as work, since it was something he mostly enjoyed, and he'd even gotten most of his ordering done yesterday, besides. He had some workplace napping to catch up on, since it hadn't really gone very well for him the day before, and, well, he knew certain people tended to do their grocery shopping on Wednesdays, and he'd hate for them to be terribly disappointed by his absence if they'd come in today and he wasn't there...
There was, of course, the matter of the gourds and the little old lady who came in and always spent about half an hour going through all the milks in the cooler in hopes to find the one jug with an expiration date far, far, far into the future, who usually paid with all coins, and now only seemed to have a pocketfull of tiny gourds. Shunsui was more than happy to accept gourds as payments, especially from such a lovely young woman such as this little old lady, but he was a bit at a loss on how exactly to do the conversion rate.

"What's Boston Cream Pie?"
She didn't necessarily expect Shunsui to know. Sometimes she just liked to read the Squishy flavors, coming in.

Yes, thank you, very helpful, Shunsui.
"It's a sweet flavor," he added, which might have helped a bit more, until that lazy, unscrupulous smile spread across his face as he turned his attention toward something far more interesting and beautiful, "but not as sweet as you, of course, Octavia-chan ♥. How are you, my little sorrow dove ♥? Would you like to try a bit of the Squishy in question, or shall we stick with the customary sake ♥?"
Or both!
You know he absolutely tried mixing the two at some point that day.

Wasn't as if she'd been wearing any necklaces before last week.
Octavia shrugged. "I haven't tried any of the Squishies before." Possibly because they had not yet been shoved at her by Magnus. "Today might as well be that day."

"I keep hoping they'll do a sake flavor," Shunsui groused, with an oh-so-tragic drawl, despite the grin that remained on his face, "but so such luck yet."
So enjoy this nice cup of slushed ice that tasted like cream pie, Octavia!
"Maybe they're waiting for my birthday ♥."

... It tasted sweet. And like some kind of cake.
She wasn't sure what she'd expected.
no subject
"So what do you think ♥?" he asked.
no subject
It was the ice.

Which, by the way, was a concept she hadn't been all too familiar with before she'd hit the island.

She was also still sipping the damn Squishy.
