Room 301 Throws A Bush Party in the Preserve; The Preserve, Friday Night [11/08].

Well, sure, it was a bit brisk out, but that was actually the perfect kind of weather for a good end-of-the-season bush party. All Wayne had to do was throw on a turtleneck underneath his plaid (you lose a lot of heat in the neck) and make sure the fire was a good solid one, and they'd be all set.

Where Wayne managed to get so many fold-out chairs to set around the fire he'd gotten started in the firepit in the old campgrounds out in the preserve was anyone's guess, but there was plenty of seating for anyone who did show up. He wasn't really expecting a whole lot for just an impromptu bush party, and that was fine, as it'd come up as mostly just a way to get to know his roommate a bit better, and sometimes the smaller get-togethers were always the better ones, but there was a lot to be said for a party that just got much bigger than you expected, too.

Pretty low key. Nothing fancy. A fire and some food and some beer and pop, ain't no reason to get excited.

Although there were apparently a lot of sparklers, too, and more glitter than Wayne would have expected about the place considering he hadn't even brought any. The sparklers he was fairly certian had something to do with his invitation sender. The glitter could have been her, too, but he'd actually be willing to put his money down on the island for that one.

Nina had a beer, to be companionable, and to text a selfie of her with it at the party to the guys in Insomnia just because, like, well. That was really just par for the course.

She also had some chips—she liked the All-Dressed ones, was less certain on the ketchup ones—and a seat by the fire like a queen. When she finished her chips she was totally going to go and try the other things!

Nina also had a sparkler. That she had totally no idea honest where it had come from.

The glitter, though, she wasn't taking responsibility for. If she could plausibly blame the island (and she could) then she was going to!

"Nina." Wayne lifted his own bottle of Puppers in acknowledgement from his own chair, nodding the expected greeting. "How are ya now?"

Mae wasn't the biggest fan of beer, but she was a big fan of social lubricant, especially when her other option was to wander around awkwardly inserting herself into other people's conversations. So she had a beer. Which she occasionally sipped and made faces at. While sitting quite close to the fire, because -- fire. Every now and then, she looked up and tried to pick out the constellations she knew.

It was kind of hard, though. When all the stars were in the wrong places.

It wasn't even her party but, like, if anyone thought that was going to stop her from talking to everyone, well…

Wayne probably wasn't going to ask about Mundy if he could help it, but he was going to give Mae a nod from his hick throne folding chair by the fire. "Mae," he greeted. "How are ya now?"

Wayne was in his element in the great outdoors; he almost looked relaxed, just sittin' there by the fire with a Puppers in his hand.

Almost.

He squinted a little, trying to remember Owen's name, but not coming up with anything, so he just skipped that part and moved on with the customary nod in greeting, followed by the, "How are ya now?"

Beer. Pfft. Eleanor had brought real booze. Cheap tequila and margarita mix. And she had already drank a good bit of it.

And a platter of cocktail shrimp.

"Sup, benches?!" she called out before half sitting/half falling on the ground in front of the campfire. A loose shrimp landed on her shirt which she promptly picked off; ate; and threw the tail into the campfire.

And, a moment later, he decided to add, "Glad you could make time out of your busy non-group-thing schedule to join us."

"I don't see anything that looks like a bench," Nina said cheerfully, glancing up from her beer. She didn't really want to know what swear had been censored either. Nina was a lady.

And, okay, she could take a guess.

Prompto was here, and he'd brought his own drink, but it definitely wasn't booze, it was more coffee, which he probably shouldn't have, but, look. He got up super early that morning for radio, he had classes, he had gone for a run and did some extra training, and now there was this late night party that he wasn't going to just miss, and so he was drinking all the coffee.

But he was here! Mildly exhausted and shivering just a bit dramatically under his jacket, but here all the same!

Tisarwat wasn't exactly sure what to expect out of a party like this, but it was a party, and she was hardly going to miss it. Especially not when Okuyasu, Wayne, and Nina were all involved.

It had definitely been long enough since her 'try every kind of alcohol this planet has to offer' adventure that the alcohol was definitely catching her attention. She decided to start with one of the beers, since that was what everyone else seemed to be drinking, but she had a feeling she'd like the whiskey more.

The really nice thing about being outside was that, since she wasn't actively eating at the moment, and she was also a delicate, dainty flower of a lady, Nina was wearing gloves!

She waved excitedly to Tisarwat.

"You made it, you made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said happily. "Come sit down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Sidon was absolutely wearing his big pink coat for this and sticking rather close to the fire. But he wasn't going to let something like the increasing chill in the air stop him from enjoying a get-together such as this! Especially after the lovely invitations Nina had sent! He was going to be cleaning the glitter out of his tank for weeks, but it was a chore he dealt with happily!

Okuyasu was, of course, one of the driving forces of this event.

So when he showed up late, it was a little odd.

"Sorry, ha ha!" he declared as he arrived. "I, uhhh, got lost."

He actually had done. Because he'd forgotten the way here.

Food & Drink - 11/08.

Wayne brought the good old classic plaid table cloth again, and there's a cooler pretty much stuffed with bottles of water, pop, and Puppers, as well as a few other beverage choices which includes some Gus N'Bru.

Wayne brought the All-Dressed and Ketchup chips, of course, but Okuyasu said he'd handle most of the food with some izakaya offerings, which definitely made the fare a bit...different from what you'd usually have a bush party, but, in the case of this bush party and for the sake of roommate bonding, that was the whole point!

Sneak Off Into the Woods - 11/08.

Wayne's the sort of guy to be just fine sitting at a fire with a beer in the woods even by himself, so he's not likeleh to initiate anything like a campfire game himself, but that doesn't mean the floor isn't open if anyone wanted to get something going, and this here's the thread to do it.

Just make a thread for it and have at 'er! Seriously, we might all be a bit overdue for a nice rousing round of I Never, Spin the Bottle, or Truth or Dare...
