That warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had known that yesterday would be a wasted day, but she'd maybe underestimated how much. Or how much she'd kind of hate the cute little horses that insisted on making little cloppy sounds with their hooves when her head was pounding. She didn't know how anyone across at least two galaxies hadn't come up with some widely available hangover cure, but someone had better at least be trying.

She'd felt okay taking the day off from her usual routines, but it meant that today she was up earlier to make up for it a little. By the time anyone got to the warehouse today, she'd already stacked some of the crates laying around, and feeling like it wasn't as much of a challenge after the boulders the other week. That was good, right?

Needing a break from watching the Troopers wander around the Station in sock feet paperwork, Liam figured he'd take a walk and find that warehouse Rey had talked about.

Indeed, the mark on the door was pretty distinctive. "Hello?" he called out, opening up the door and stepping inside. On his shoulder, Verity made some excited chittering noises as she peered around curiously. Liam didn't speak flying squirrel, but he suspected she was looking at all the potential things to climb up and jump off of with glee.

"Over here," Rey called from over by the crate stacks, relaxing a little when she saw who it was. "Hi."

"How's the training going today?" Liam asked, deciding not to lead with 'So, how hungover did you end up yesterday?'

[thatwaslucky]

So hungover.

"I'm just getting some practice in so far," she answered. "I got here a little early, so I've got time."

"What sort of practice?" Liam asked. He'd only been here once before, after all, and had been pretty small at the time, so if the crates had a typical configuration, it wasn't like he'd know.

Speaking of crates, Verity had taken off from his shoulder and was scrambling up that stack.

"Uh, telekinesis," she said, momentarily distracted by the adorable flying thing. "Friend of yours?"

"Right, the 'moving things with your brain' stuff," Liam nodded. "That's Verity. She turned into a flying squirrel yesterday."

Which was just one of those sentences that would be weird anywhere else but par for the course in Fandom.

"Hello, Verity. There's plenty of places in here to play," Rey said, trying to be helpful.

"And yeah, moving things around with my brain," she said with a tiny smile. "More or less." Sort of?

"There's a reason the mice call her the 'Arboreal Priestess'," Liam noted, watching as Verity leapt off the stack and glided gracefully back down to the floor.

"There was... one person, that I know of, that could do that- the telekinesis, I mean, back where I'm from," he added.

"Oh yeah? So not very common there?" she guessed.

"Not at all," Liam confirmed. "She, uh. Experimented on herself to make that possible, though. It wasn't something she was born with." Not the way he gathered it worked for those who had access to the Force, anyway.

"Oh. That's... it sounds extreme?"

She absolutely would not have done that.

[firstofitskind]

"Extreme is a good word for it," Liam agreed. Especially since the person in question had decided that humanity and the Taelons both were too flawed to continue existing, and had wanted to destroy Earth and start a new race with Liam in some sort of bizarre Adam-and-Eve scenario. "But that wasn't what I came here to talk about, exactly," he continued, sounding a little apologetic for getting off track the way he had.

Was Anakin especially booming as he came into the warehouse?

Maybe. "Hello, Rey!"

Yeah, no one was ever that effusive without wanting to be a bit of an asshole.

Rey was beginning to figure out with him. Which was why she'd arranged for all that on Wednesday so she wouldn't have to train with a hangover.

She learned fast.

"Hello," she called back. "How are you today?"

"Well, there aren't performing penguins, but I'm also out of soda," Anakin said. "So about where I started?"

"But you do have candy in your shoes," Rey pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"Which I forgot about until I put them," Anakin said, wincing. "Balance."

"That's starting the day on the wrong foot."

LOOK. She was feeling much better today than yesterday.

Anakin snorted despite his best efforts not to. "Thank you for that," he said dryly.

Rey just grinned. "Anything in particular we're working on today?"

[sith_happened]

"How comfortable do you feel with the first form?" Anakin asked. "Do you want to add the second one?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I do," she nodded, already walking over to retrieve the practice lightsaber from her bag, where she'd also set her staff. "I've run through the first form almost every day."

She gave herself a pass yesterday.

"Good," Anakin said, pulling out his own lightsaber and igniting it. "Form II, also known as Makashi--or Contention Form--was designed for one-on-one lightsaber combat."

[thatwaslucky]

"Contention form," she repeated, going to stand at a distance where she'd be able to follow along. "I'm guessing it's less basic than the first?"
