The Perk, Tuesday Afternoon

Octavia still wasn't sure when she'd become a person who made plans with people - especially casual plans that had nothing to do with weapons or fighting of any kind. But this week she was glad for it, because distractions were a welcome thing, and so here she was, at the Perk to meet up with Magnus.

The barista that had the biggest problem with her did not seem to be at work today, so she was able to get her peppermint mocha without incident. Thankfully. Afterwards, she took a seat by one of the windows, perfect for watching the street.

Weapons could always happen in the future! "This isn't wine-y, right?" Magnus confirmed, squinting at his latte.

"I don't think so," Octavia replied with a shrug. "Pretty sure it has to be hot from the tap for that to happen."

[magnusrushesin]

"Because believe you me, I have already gotten pretty day drunk," Magnus informed her loftily.

[okteiviakom]

"You've actually been drinking that stuff?" Octavia asked, raising her eyebrows a little.

Why was she even surprised?

[magnusrushesin]

Because she didn't expect people to drink the free, fantasy wine? But this was also a guy who ate both deep fried unicorn horn and dick, so...

"It's pretty okay!"

Stunning praise.

"'Pretty okay'," Octavia repeated, in kind of a raspy drawl. Amused in her own way, though. "You also think Cheerwine is drinkable."

She had still not forgiven him.

"Hey, just because you didn't like it..."

Mmm. Diabetes in a can.

"It's disgusting." It was! "Just drink your coffee."

[magnusrushesin]

"Fine, but only because its the Candlenights season." And because he liked it.

[okteiviakom]

Octavia snorted, softly. "So is my Candlenights gift that you listened to me?"

She'd be good with that, for the record. Getting presents was weird.

[magnusrushesin]

"No, it's just the season. I'll get you something nice."

And not a goof!

[okteiviakom]

"You really don't have to."

She knew that wouldn't deter him any. She just had to say it anyway.

"But Candlenights!" You were getting a damn wood carving, Octavia. Deal with it.

[okteiviakom]

"It's not even my holiday, Magnus," Octavia replied. Because she didn't actually have any holidays.

It'd been a whole thing, lately.

[magnusrushesin]

"It totally could be, though. You know. If you want."

They could have a party!

[okteiviakom]

Octavia paused, like she was surprised. Or possibly just confused. "Why's everyone so interested in giving me holidays lately?"

Two people weren't 'everyone', except when you only socialized with a very limited number of people.

[magnusrushesin]

"Wait, is someone trying to pimp a better holiday?" Magnus asked. "'Cause I'll fight 'em."

Oh, Magnus.

"No," Octavia huffed. "Duke just... wants me to have one. That's all."

[magnusrushesin]

It should shock no one that was his response. Absolutely no one.

"Well, you could if you wanna."

[okteiviakom]

Octavia took a thoughtful sip of coffee, looking out the window for a second. "What would that even mean?" she asked as her gaze flicked back to him. "Candlenights being my holiday too."

[magnusrushesin]

"That you get to celebrate it with me or anyone else you want!" Because Christmas sounded dumb if you asked him.

Octavia was also not a fan.

"How do you celebrate Candlenights, anyway?"

[magnusrushesin]

"Well, you hang out with your friends and family and you party. And give each other gifts!" Which sounded oddly like Christmas, but okay.

[okteiviakom]

It did, but Octavia was going to refrain from pointing that out.

"At least it sounds easy," she said instead, about half joking.

[magnusrushesin]

"So, there you go!" Magnus said, beaming. "A holiday for you too."
