Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday
There were some new deliveries, so Seivarden altered between arranging them and looking at colour samples. Oh, and the new tea set. It wasn nothing like a good Radchaai one, and definitely not like the one Tisarwat had, but it was proper enough.
She was in a good mood. A better one than she had been in a while. The shop seemed to encourage that, as a couple of birds had appeared, just enough of them to make the birdsong pleasant. There was also a small fountain that Seivarden was pretty sure she hadn't ordered.
Covent Garden Flowers was open.

Covent Garden Flowers was open.

"Good morning, Seivarden, w--"
But her attention was immediately diverted, ridiculous lilac eyes lighting up.
"Oh! So you did get the fountain!"
She was just super into the fountain concept, okay?

"I don't know." She frowned a little. She had been smoking a lot if that weed she had recently harvested, to make sure she didn't bring something of bad quality to Duke. Among other reasons. She could have ordered it and forgot about it and that bothered her a little.
"But it fits, doesn't it? What do you think about the tea set? Not to bad for being from this planet."
no subject
didn't have the brain latelywas holding onto it with some sort of very silly sentimentality, while the other part of her wanted to make sure the plot involved with returning it was failproof before acting on it this time."I told you a fountain wouuld be a nice touch," she noted, somewhat proudly, "even if that's too small to really keep any fish in it, but you might have been right, anything bigger would be too much. And that is a nice teaset." She tilted her head at it as the focus of her attention shifted.
Not as nice as hers, which wasn't even all that nice, by Radchaai standards, but, clearly, their standards had to be modified a little to suit their situation.
"Was it a gift?"
no subject
She looked at the fountain.
"If it's gone tomorrow I'm getting another one. You were right about it."
One would think that a kid who spent money on eyes like that wouldn't have the best of tastes, but she was Radchaai.

But the little swell of pride at being told she was right was a rare moment of collective agreement through all her disjointed selves.
And now she was taking a closer look at the tea set. "Have you had a chance to use it yet?"

She smiled a little as she picked up the cup and studied it.

She practically brought it with her everywhere. It was essentially survival gear, at this point.

"So how have you been? I understand there's a school break."
no subject
"Better," she answered, honestly, "now that things have sort of calmed down and I think I've gotten over everything with the the locker. The break is nice; a little moment to sort of take a breath, but I'm already excited to see what new classes might be available next semester."
no subject
"You know, kiddo, I can't see any reason why you're excited about that, but it's good that you're enjoying yourself. I do hope you have other things to keep you busy too though."
no subject
She would, for now, continue to just ignore it, though.
"I like the classes," she said emphatically, "even when they're nonsense or frustrating."
Plus, she was hoping to get into Amaya's class next semester, too, which was reason enough to look forward to it, if anything.
"And it's a good thing they are interesting," she admitted, "because there really isn't too much to keep me busy, unfortunately."
It was mostly just classes and socialization, which was fine, if only there were more of the latter.

She looked thoughtful for a moment.
"I guess," she said, "the group on Monday morning is sort of an informal club. A Breakfast Club."

"And what do you do in this club?"
She added: "Maybe people just don't like clubs. Kanan was really upset when I called it the sword club."
She had kept calling it that because that was what it was.
no subject
She wasn't sure, though, considering she'd been stuck in a locker for most of it.
"What did they do at sword club?"
She'd had an idea, but now she doubted it, if someone was getting mad at it being called what would have been the obvious thing.

Seivarden grinned. "Useless weapons, of course, although Amaya disagrees. I'm sure the ones she makes are good though. She would probably sell you one if you're interested."
She couldn't help it, she wanted to see the reaction.

So this was a good idea, yes. Tisarwat was pretty sure she could listen to the husky voice go on and on about pretty much anything, if the somewhat distant smile on her face as she pictured it might have indicated.
She did not go so far as to sigh or anything, but it was a very near thing.
"Besides," she added, once she seemed to get that moment out of her system a little, "they don't seem that useless. I mean, sure, compared to a gun, without a doubt, but a sword seems like it would have been much more useful against that mistletoe than that axe you grabbed."
She wasn't planning on bringing up the mistletoe at all, but she was still sort of trying to figure out how Seivarden thought that was the best weapon out of all the ones on the wall, though she supposed it could have just been Seivarden buckling under pressure.

"Well, perhaps, but Amaya was very upset that something could have happened to the Crumbler. She took the first portal back home when I told her."
no subject
She did have the decency to at least look a little sheepish and embarrassed about the whole thing, though she wasn't even sure how much of it was genuine.
"Then I'll have to apologize when I return the knife, as well," she decided. Which would, truly, be such a trial, really... "Even though everything was fine, really..."
