Anakin was blaming both the spelled seat on the bus that forced him into what he was convinced was top ten of the the galaxy's stupidest outfits and the giant beak on the front of the copiously decorated shuttle that affected his reflexes just enough to tip the bus rather than stopping it when a creepy horned guy with a really great robe, at least, stepped directly in front of the bus like an idiotic new teacher who'd never seen transportation before.

Anakin'd barely had enough time to yell to the passengers to grab onto something before they'd flipped...and now that he'd woken back up, they were definitely not on the causeway any more. Or the clinic. "Great," he grumbled, moving carefully to check for injuries.

He was still in the stupid chicken suit and also kidnapped, apparently. "Is everyone all right?"

"Maybe it's a tourism thing." Wasn't like she'd ever cared about Baltimore. "They say volcanic stuff is good for your skin, but I hear it's also bad for your lungs, so I don't know how to feel about this."

“Yeeeeahhhhhhh I think maybe bus crash plus volcano equals bad.”

Okay, there was no avoiding how dry that was.

Besides, she didn't want to say her pores needed to be cleaned out but it also wouldn't hurt.

“Oh sure.” Heather raised her eyebrows a little and nodded. “Positive vibes will definitely get us out of this volcano.”

"What do you think we should do then?" Alexis asked her.

Oh sure, Alexis. Call her on her lack of ideas. “I’m a student,” she said. “Maybe we should ask, like. A grownup.”

She didn’t sound terribly confident about that.

"What's that gonna do?" Alexis scoffed.

"I don't know, they may have . . . volcano training."

That might be a thing, right?

"What did you mean 'not again'?"

"Oh, just that anytime I have to get on a bus lately it feels like it crashes and overturns," she said, just... way too damn casually. "Yet another reason to avoid public transportation. Can we go back to 'volcano training'?"

"Wow. Remind me not to get on a bus with you again." Heather shook her head. "If you're going to have a volcano around, you should probably, like . . . know how to deal with it, right? So maybe bus driver guy knows volcanoes."

"Okay. You should ask him if he knows volcanoes."

Alexis was betting not!

Heather looked over at Anakin. "You could . . . come with me, maybe. . . ."

"Sure. I'm not doing the asking, though," she said, because she knew how this went. And she wanted to see the reaction.

Heather sighed. "Ugh. Fine. I guess I have to go -- do stuff then. Stupid volcano."
