The Perk, Monday Morning

"No, not a teabag. You know that's not acceptable."

The barista just looked at her.

"You're just doing this to annoy me, aren't you?"

Slowly, the barista reached for the jar with tea leaves, with bare hands.

"No, you can't do that without gloves! And I'm not even going to pay if you put milk in it."

This was Seivarden trying to order tea at The Perk on a Monday morning, although honestly, this would happen any time of day, any day of the week she tried it.

"Don't you get tired of this too?"

At least she was expecting some company. Hopefully the barista would have managed to make proper tea when Lucifer arrived.

"What are we getting tired of?" Lucifer called, shutting the door to the Perk behind him.

Seivarden turned her head, looking frustrated. "They pretend making proper tea is such a chore."

"Ahhh," Lucifer said, striding up to the counter, easy smile in place. "Good morning, Moira. Are we teasing Seivarden again?"

The barista perked up, grinning back at him, and tugged a little on a strand of her hair. "She makes it easy," the barista said.

"Oh, I know."

Seivarden looked a little offended.

"Really?"

"Well, you do like to make a bit of a fuss, darling," Lucifer said, and leaned on the counter. "But she is a paying customer," he added, to Moira. "If I say pretty please, will you get her a nice cup of loose leaf?"

Moira made an amused sound. "Fine," she said, and turned away before he could see the blush on her cheeks. "One cup, coming up."

"How did you manage that?" Seivarden said. She knew the answer but was going to pretend she didn't. Taking a step closer, she leaned in to give Lucifer a quick kiss.

"It helps when you're nice to the people who make your tea," Lucifer pointed out, amused, and let her get away with making it quick.

Seivarden snorted, mostly amused, then asked:

"What are you having?"

"I'll have..." Lucifer looked thoughtful. "... A very large hot chocolate, please. The one with the real chocolate in it."

"There's one with fake chocolate?"

Seivarden had never tried a hot chocolate, but having to point out that it should be real sounded bad, didn't it?

"Powdered cocoa," Lucifer specified. "I want the one where they put a whole stick of chocolate into hot milk."

"Oh."

She picked up her cup of tea.

"I haven't tried either."

She looked around for a table.

"Would you like to?" Lucifer asked, leaning against the counter as he waited for the barista to finish.

"Perhaps some other time," Seivarden said as she walked over to a table.

She smiled at Lucifer. "Had a fun weekend?"

"Spent some more time in Baltimore. I think it's starting to grow on me," said Lucifer (it wasn't). "Can't complain."

"Sounds fun." Seivarden said, having expected some more enthusiasm. She took a seat.

"I had a really quiet day at the flower shop so I did check your Instagram."

After adding a bunch of flower pictures to her own.

"The biceps collage was all for you," Lucifer said, swiping his drink from the counter, grinning at the barista, and then swooping towards Seivarden.

"I'm flattered you took the time," Seivarden grinned. "I did make something for you too by the way."

She had been bored in the flower shop. She had had a delivery of some quite obscene-looking flowers.

"Ohhh?" Lucifer said. "On Insta?"

He pulled out his phone.

"You have to guess which ones."

Seivarden took a sip of tea, smirking. It shouldn't be too hard to find the obscene flowers.

Lucifer laughed. "A mystery, eh?" he said, pulling up Seivarden's Instagram account, and-- "Oooh, dirty lilies."

Lucifer would probably get some real ones at some point.

"At least someone appreciates flowers who doesn't bite. Oh, and I think the new tea set looks really nice next to the lily."

"Tea set? Oh, hm," Lucifer said, grinning. "I got a bit distracted by the lilies."

Seivarden smirked a little into her tea cup. "Well, they are nice lilies, aren't they. I appreciate the collage though."

"I knew you would," Lucifer said merrily. "Sad you weren't there to see them in person, really."
