When did Summer have the time to set up a whole casino-esque theme around the bar that day? When did Summer have the time to set up any of the weird, rando things she set up when the time struck her? Don't worry about it.

But there was definitely a theme going on that evening, some real high-class blackjack and hookers kind of thing, all because someone had learned how to make jello shots that looked like dice.

Of course, the biggest gamble of the night was Summer relying very heavily on the strutrual integrity of dice made of jello, but, come on. She'd made gloves out of jello before, dice were way easier, you just definitely could not handle them for too long.

Caritas is open!

As always, Rey looked at the specials when she got there. "That seems like it could be dangerous and I'm not sure how."

[Work is killing me but DAMMIT I NEED NORMALCY.]

"That's arguably the best kind of dangerous!" said Summer, a responsible adult.

She grinned a Rey a little. "You willing to give it a try tonight?"

Rey made a face as she considered it and said, "Why not. It's not exactly like I get crazy or anything."

And she could live for her player, who wished she was drinking right now.

"I do love it when you come in here with just that perfect blend of adventure and apathy," Summer laughed a little fondly, before considering. "So which set of dice? Red, blue, or..." Dramatic pause! "Black."

She was maybe a little excited about black.

"You want black," Rey said, smiling.

"Damn right I do," Summer admitted with another laugh, and, lo and behold, she was quick to present to Rey two black jello dice on a small tray. "It's clearly the best option, and amps that chaotic danger up, like, tenfold.

"So," she continued, "anyway, it's craps rules. That means if you roll a two, three, or twelve, you crap out, game over, you gotta pay for your drink like the rest of the schlubs. You roll a seven, it's an instant win, and you get a drink of my choice. Any other roll establishes a point value that you have to roll on the second roll to get the free drink."

She paused, considering the wiggly little dice.

"Assuming they make it to a second roll, anyway."

"Suddenly I realize why I don't gamble." Also she'd never tried. But she picked up the dice...

"Jello dice?"

Summer grinned a little lopsidedly and shrugged. "I figured it would either be a big hit or a total disaster, and decided to take my chances."

Eh? See what she did there? Because it was a gamble??

"I mean," she offered, "they don't really roll like regular dice? They just kind of...flop? Maybe bounce a little? So it'd be pretty easy to cheat the system," especially so since, hello, Rey had the Force, but, also, Summer so did not see her just using it for something like this, "but I thought, eh. Why not? Go ahead and try! See what you roll!"

Rey looked really amused as she gave the dice a little shake, and tried to roll them, though they landed with a soft thump on a seven.

"That felt weird."

"Awwww," said Summer, laughing with it because that soft thump was really kind of sad but also hilarious at the same time and she kind of loved jello dice now. "But, hey! A seven!"

Now she wasn't so sure Rey wouldn't be the type to use the Force to cheat, but she wasn't abotu to open that box.

"That means you get a free drink!"

Which Summer had ready in, like, two seconds because she was really hoping Rey would win and she knew exactly what she was going to give her.

It was a Dr. Pepper.

But with RUM in it!

She didn't cheat! But she was sort of unnaturally lucky?

"You didn't even need to think about that," she said, half-laughing as she reached for the drink.

"Yeaaah," Summer's grin went a little sheepish. "I may have already planned out what to give all my regulars if they came in and rolled a win on black."

She was going to be so disappointed if she didn't get a chance to foist the old Summer Smith on Lucifer or Seivarden.

"Do you think," she ventured, with a small laugh, "that just makes me a good bartender or just kind of...sad?"

"It makes you good," Rey said, sipping the drink, "especially since this tastes great."

As one who didn't exactly like the taste of alcohol, per se, good job!
