Turtle & Canary; Monday [04/13].
Summer was in, of course, for her usual Monday orders around the store, but this week, she had a little helper with her. A very bright, bouncy, surprisingly easy to understand little boy with red hair and cat ears that proved to be very good at counting and made it a little bit of a game for himself to chirp off the inventory for his apparent mother so she could know what to order and how much, and was it bad that the main thing this had Summer wondering was how she should maybe get a Meeseeks all up in here to do her Monday ordering for her? Or at least help out?
(It was bad, and another alternate dimension Summer would encourage this Summer emphatically that this was a terrible idea, she tried it, it would not go well, oh.my.god).
Poor Turk (short for Turquoise, ohgod, they gave their kid a stripper name), though, was still a little disheartened that they had yet to track down his da. Summer, on the other hand, wondered if that was maybe a blessing, because she barely even knew Cait Sith, she had no idea what the reaction would be to her being all, 'oh, yeah, by the way, in some whacked out dimension, I guess we have a kid.'
She liked to think he'd roll with it pretty well, though, since he'd rolled pretty well with everything so far, and that's what she liked about him, but still...

Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
So Cait was a little out of the loop right now and he'd decided that the quickest way to get up-to-date was to go visit someone who liked gossip just as much as he did.
If not more.
"Summer, mah lassie!" he called, wandering on in. "Ye aroond oan thes braw day?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
"Da!" The shout was going to reach Cait well before the boy did, but he wasn't too far behind, practically careening out from behind one of the aisle and nearly colliding into him. He didn't, because he was just graceful like that, but he did start bouncing around excitedly around his father who was (probably) actually just a bit smaller than he was.
"Da! Da! Da! I've been waiting for you, like, aaaaaaaaallllllllllllll daaaaaaaaaaay!"
Which wasn't true, necessarily, but it sure felt like it!
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
"Weel noo," he said, after a beat. "Ah beg yer pardon abit 'at, me laddie! Ah didne realize ye waur waitin' fur me!"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
She did absolutely nothing of the sort.
But, you know. Details, schmetails.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
What? It wasn't like he was going to criticize someone else's running of a store!
"Eh'd loove tae spick tae Mam, if ye can peel yerself awa' frae bein' in charge fur a moment! Aam sure she's bin wantin' tae spick wi' me."
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
"OI! MAM!" He shouted as loud as his little-but-still-bigger-than-his-da's body could manage. "DA'S HERE! GIT YUR BLUDY ARSE OUT HERE TAW SPICK WIT IM!"
And then he was all beaming sunshine because how could anyone not be proud of that?
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
And how could anyone not have heard that? Although Summer knew Cait had gotten there thanks to the security cams, but she had to finish up something real quick, because who knew how this would go? So she emerged from the back office to join them.
"Maybe a little louder next time," she suggested. "I don't think they heard you out in the Horsehead Nebula." Then she gave Cait a sort of apologetic smile.
"Sooooo, I see you've had a chance to meet Turk...please tell me someone's had a chance to tell you about the weird rando kids from alternate future weekends around here, because that'll save me a lot of trouble."
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Credit was where credit was due, after all.
"Ah beg yer pardon?" he asked Summer. "Because, aye, noo yoo'll be expectin' me tae believe a scuttle impossible things afair breakfest!"
Not... not that Cait sounded like he minded being expected to believe that many impossible things before breakfast.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Summer had very actively been trying her damnest not to make sense out of any of it, but she was starting to think maybe Turk came from a dimension where Summer's advances on Cait when he first arrived had actually worked.
Weren't alternate universes fun?? But at least she actually was used to it, and, as this weekend itself had shown, it could always be worse....
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
And was ignoring the spluttering of a teenage boy a universe away that only he could hear.
"Is 'at aw?" he asked cheerfully. "What an interestin' circumstance! Noo, mah biggest question is: wa did we nam heem efter an secrit service in mah warld? Dae ye ken, laddie?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Because of course they hyphenated it. Had to squeeze as much awful as they could in there!
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
It wasn't even the most confusing thing about this, okay?
"But a secret service in your world is called Turk?" she added, because, sorry, kid, that was way more interesting and far less weird to focus on.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
"Weel, that's wonderful, laddie," he said, since the little dude (who was taller than he was) was just... so... proud of it. Seriously, though, that was... Summer. What had they been thinking?
"But och aye! th' Turks ur th' nicknam ay 'The Department ay Administratife Research', but they're security an'... mair than 'at."
He shrugged a little since he wasn't going to go into lurid detail with the little dude hanging out with them.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
And then sort of trailed off a little as she realized there wasn't that far to go with it.
"Anyway," she said, "I've spent most of the weekend with Turk so far, and the way these things usually go is that means it's your turn."
She actually had no idea if that was how it worked, since the only other time this happened, the kid's father wasn't around, but, sure, why not? It was either that or go back to watching Pancakes get horribly offended at Turk stealing all her cat toys and sometimes treats.
"I'm sure the two of you could have fun together, right?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Issabeth walked through the door around lunchtime glancing around the store as she approached the counter.
"Are you still running this place?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
His voice trailed behind him, obviously still calling out to her as he disappeared into the depths of the store. "WATCH OUt fer the cheese pa...."
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
And congratulation, Summer, you just cursed every single one of someone's adult characters with Shunsui Kyōraku's babies next year. Good job.
"How you doing, kid?" she then asked. "You have a good time with your mother last night?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
"Probably because anything else would be way too exciting for her to handle," she murmured. And then winced, slightly.
"Sorry," she offered. "I really shouldn't say stuff like that, should I?"
Sure, it was evident that her and Seivarden were not even a thing in this dimension, thank god, but Summer always hated how her mom would always talk shit about her dad in front of her when she was Issabeth's age, and yet there she was, practically doing the same thing.
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
She continued:
"Does anyone ever buy those squishies?"
Re: Talk to Summer - 04/13.
(Forget the fact that it already sort of happened when she left).
This dimension just kept getting weirder and weirder, and she still didn't know what to make of the whole Tisarwat thing. She recognized the name, of course, but she didn't think she'd actually ever met her, and what do you do when you meet someone in that instance? 'Oh, hey, you're the one who's, like, totes my best friend, possibly more, who galavants all through space with me in that whacked-out dimension where I have a kid with Seivarden Vendaai'! Yeah, that'd be one hell of an icebreaker.
So she was going to focus on the thing that made slightly more sense and looked at the Squishy machine and scoffed. "God no," she said. "Sometimes I can't even manage to give them away for free. But you can help yourself, if you want. I'm pretty sure you get get freebies as, like, the manager's daughter. I take it you've already tried the Red at some point, though. I can only imagine it's still stubbornly pumping it out in your timeline, too."

Issabeth followed Summer, picking up a bag of cookies on the way.
OOC - 04/13.
I figured it'd be good if anyone desperately needs to run hog wild with their children in a general store, or whatever.
