Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [04/15].
There were several expertly pyramids and towers of canned and boxed goods throughout the store that day, which had, apparently, been up since later in the day Monday. Apparently, Turquoise Smith-Sith had a real gift for stacking, and Apu had been so impressed that he couldn't bring himself to take them down quite yet. Besides, Canary-chan had made quite a game of it for herself to flit about from one stack to another, trilling out a little song and careful not to disturb all these new perches before fluttering off to the next, and that was just adorable.
Shunsui was just mostly bewildered about something else, it seemed, and that was the fact that Summer-chan apparently had a kid? And then Apu just sort of looked at Shunsui, realizing that he couldn't tell if he was just that good at playing dumb or if he really, truly, actually was that oblivious. He honestly wasn't sure, but, whichever way it went, it was almost impressive.
Almost.
But what was actually impressive was how Shunsui always seemed to sweep incredibly close to all those stacks whenever he moved around the store, and even though Apu was certain he was about to have a clean-up of tumbled cans in Ailse [Handwavey], he never actually did knock them over...

She also looked like she would potentially commit murder over fallen cans if she had to hear it happen, even though the very worst of her hangover had passed. Enough that she'd made it out into town and into the store, anyway.
... She was wearing sunglasses indoors, yes.

He was, however, going to quirk an eyebrow.
"Rough morning, Octavia-chan ♥?" he ventured, reaching for his jug.
no subject
Yes, even though Tuesday was far more directly to blame for her current state than the weekend was.

"Well," he stated, cups in hand, very ready to double up on his own intake should Octavia not be so willing to fight fire with fire that afternoon, as he began to pour, "I'm not sure of the size or the breed of the dog that bit you, but I always feel a little bit of this helps ♥."
In...any situation, really. Not even just hangovers.
But especially hangovers.
"And a listening ear," he offered out, along with the cup itself, "if you need one. Always ♥."

The weekend was a lot to unpack. Yesterday's drink menu, not so much.
Octavia reached for the cup as usual, though the soft brushing of fingers against fingers felt perhaps a little less deliberate and a little more careless this week.

[[ one million years later....]]

Of course, it had led to more things to process and unpack later
and that were still being played out. But the hangover was doing a good job of keeping her thoughts off those, too."How was your weekend?"

Just a hunch. She didn't doubt Shunsui's ability to just float through a weekend like last one even with a kid or several clinging to his robes, but she figured it would still leave some kind of an impression.

Shunsui's smile grew with an impressive tilt.
"My good fortune and luck continues to hold strong after all these years ♥," he said, and that deserved another lift of his cup, even though he also may have had a small theory about the fact that in was merely a matter of logistics, that one simply could not fit that many potential children belonging to just one Soul through a single portal at once without some sort of world-breaking event to go along with it. "Don't tell me that's the reason for your long, brandy-inspiring weekend, Octavia-chan....♥."

She would not entertain the idea that she'd had one and Duke had had two, no.

The sip he took from his sake then was particularly sage-like, he felt.

"I know that, Shunsui," she drawled. "That doesn't make it easier."

As he poured himself a little more sake.
