The warehouse with the mark on the door (not that one)- Friday afternoon

When Rey got to the warehouse today, her little gremlin friend was there, sitting and waiting. Apparently they just wanted to see what she could do? Which was honestly sort of cute and supportive.

When she finished with some drills, there was even some tiny clapping.

"You have a fanclub," Anakin noted with a grin as he entered the warehouse.

"This is my coworker," Rey explained, and the gremlin waved.

And eyed him a little.

Anakin was eyeing it right back. "Don't even think about it," he told it.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm sure you're fine," Rey said.

Rey didn't know.

[sith_happened]

Anakin snorted. "I have something of a détente with the gremlins, but we're not friends."

[thatwaslucky]

"Why not?" she wondered.

...having seen Tiger.

[sith_happened]

"I've been bitten many, many times," Anakin said. "So have most of my relatives. Something about Skywalker blood, perhaps, or they might just hate me."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey frowned, thinking that seemed a little blown out of proportion, because she hadn't been here to see what it used to really be like. "What have you thought you were?" she had to ask.

"Let's see," Anakin said. "A pop starlet, a talking lion, a member of an insane family where I was the eldest daughter, apparently--and that was just the first few years I was here."

The frown deepened, and Rey was left with, "Huh."

Maybe she was trying to picture literally any of those.

"I still looked like myself through all of these," Anakin said, glaring at her gremlin friend like he was personally responsible, "just...insane."

[thatwaslucky]

Hey now. This gremlin might not have had anything to do with those! Slander!

"I've seen how it works," she said. "I promise this one's fine."

Probably.

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin muttered, pointing at the gremlin. "I'm keeping an eye on you."

[thatwaslucky]

The gremlin pointed back. Trust was a two-way street, buddy.

"I'm declaring this warehouse to be a neutral zone," Rey told them both.

[sith_happened]

"I'm not going to bite him," Anakin said, then snorted. "Don't know if anyone's done that. Do they imitate random other gremlins?"

"I hope no one's done that," Rey said.

The gremlin, meanwhile, stood, glared at Anakin, and then started to stalk off in a huff. Which took a while. Little feet and all.

"It would've been more impressive if they'd been wearing a cape," Anakin stage-whispered.

[thatwaslucky]

"Stop it, I'm going to have to fix this," she told him, and called after the gremlin, "I'll see you Sunday!"

Why Anakin got bit a lot was becoming clearer, huh, Rey?

"That was odd," Anakin added.

[thatwaslucky]

"You insulted the gremlin," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"Oops?" Anakin offered far too late to be entirely sincere.

[thatwaslucky]

"You should apologize," Rey told him.

[sith_happened]

"To a gremlin?" Anakin replied. "Really?"

[thatwaslucky]

"They have feelings. And that one probably doesn't like being lumped into a category they've done nothing to deserve," Rey pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"As far as you know," Anakin replied, making a face, "but fine. I'll apologize on Sunday."

[thatwaslucky]

"Thank you," she said, satisfied.

[sith_happened]

"This is mostly for you," he admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"I mean, I'll take it," Rey said. "And I appreciate it."

[sith_happened]

"You're welcome," Anakin said with fair more sincerity than he'd extend to a gremlin.
