You know, Summer hadn't come in to work last Monday to try and avoid a situation like this one, but, hey. Fandom gonna Fandom, she supposed, because when she came into the store that morning, she discovered the place was pretty much overrun with celery.

Like, not even a good vegetable. Just...celery.

So much celery, and, of course, there was no record of anyone having put in an order for so much celery, it just...showed up, and now Summer was wondering if she should go poke at Duke a little to work out some sort of deal with Luke's for days like this. They at least had a higher chance of being able to use it in something than just trying to sell it as is.

But she was getting a good idea for a nice jello salad she could make for Steeeeeeve that would take care of a little bit of it.

She hadn't really been in the mood for dealing with people much lately--aside from Prompto wanting to borrow Silly for a few days--but all the avoidance in the world wasn't going to do her much good when eventually, eventually, the groceries ran out.

"Yeah, I know," said Summer, who felt pretty confident that she knew what that 'um' was about. "It's not even National Celery Day or anything."

Yes. She actually checked.

"I guess celery is goin' on the grocery list then," she said, amused and also vaguely intimidated by all the celery.

Because what the hell, island? What the hell.

"I ain't goin' to argue that," if she could find her other groceries in the... celery, "though now I gotta ask: is there really a National Celery Day?"

At least that would've made sense!

"July 21st, apparently," Summer said dryly, rolling her eyes. "And National Celery Month is March, so they didn't even get that right, either."

"Why does it got both a day and a month and they don't even match up?" Iris asked, looking amused. "It ain't that special of a thin'."

"Because people like Apu exist?" Summer offered with a shrug. "Who knows? I generally just find it's easier to roll with it than try to make sense out of it. And then google different ways to use celery. I might just have to start juicing, or something."
